I like all the individual pieces, but not together. I agree with others that the necklace is fighting with the delicate lace neckline of the top. If you don't mind me pointing this out, I'm also noting a proportion imbalance. (See side by side pic below.)
On the left, the white top visually makes your torso look long, but the long length of the shorts, makes your legs look shorter. If you want a high contrast between top and bottom, then maybe the shorts need to be just above your knee (Cuff the shorts one roll?), but still covering your thighs since you feel more comfortable that way.
On the right, your leg line is longer because you hiked up the top, but then your hips and thighs are a little more highlighted. I sense you don't like to highlight that area.
Maybe a top that is the length of the left version but of the same or tonal color to the shorts will be more balanced in proportions?

ETA: The lace detail on the white top makes me think that square necklines would look FAB on you. Also you have great arms to rock cap sleeve tops.
