WIW to work this week - YouLookFab Forum

Here are three outfits that I wore to work this week. Two of them don’t necessarily meet my goals of trying to increase my outfit interest this year, but we had some things going on at Court this week where a conservative appearance was best. I’m still figuring out how to take an outfit selfie, so sorry for the bad pictures.

I’ve been following everybody’s 30x30 posts with interest. It seems like foorwear counts. What about jewelry, belts, etc.? What strategies do people who have very formal wardrobes do to fit weekends into the strategy?

I think your conservative outfits look great! I especially like how your shoes in pics #2,3 match the colors in your dress and blouse. Love those pink shoes!! I am not doing the 30 x 30 challenge, so I will let others help you with questions regarding that. Have fun with your challenge!

oceandreams27, welcome and congratulation on your 1st WIW post....have you had a look at MsMary's outfits? she posts both workwear (she's a lawyer as well) and weekend wear...
#2 is my fav of the 3...and i'm not sure if its the angle for the picture, but the blazer in #1 looks a smidge big....

Congrats on your first WIW. All really nice professional outfits. I love your hair, too.

For future, you can edit your pictures to make them lighter. It can help if your best location is a little dark. I do that to all of my pics because otherwise no one could see anything.

Lovely professional outfits, you look beatiful! I especially like no 2 and 3, they are great. You have very beautiful shoes and they suit you so well.

As for the 30x30 challenge, I understand that everybody has their individual rules and goals with the challenge. My ambition is to utilize my relatively large wardrobe and to create daily outfits during January with as little repeating items as possible. As challenge items I include bottoms, tops, indoor toppers and scarves. I have allowed myself to repeat bags, footwear and jewelry and I do not include outerwear. I know that other people have created other rules and the rules and goals are flexible.

The print of the blouse on #3 is to die for! And it's wonderful paired with the burgundy heels. I love all three outfits, but especially this one!

#2and#3 are my favourites still professional but with a little bit of colour that lifts it.I think you can look professional and still show some personality through your clothing just as you have demonstrated here.

As Katerina said, each person is setting their own rules and goals for this challenge. Most are not including outerwear, accessories, or footwear, but a few people are. Some are including both work and casual wear in their thirty days, others are doing it as two separate 30 day challenges, and others are focusing one just one of the two. Some chose their thirty pieces at the beginning, others are choosing as they go. It is really a bunch of individual and different challenges happening at the same time.
