WIW: to work Friday

I love this skirt. It's strapped and buckled on both sides, pencil cut, with a small split at the front. It's by Issey Miyaki...another eBay find.

I find that I can only wear very plain tops with it...or can I wear something else? Any suggestions?

I'm wearing the same RMK shoes as the other day as they seem to go well with pencil skirts.

I want to wear this skirt more this Winter, but it is tough to style, and I'm clueless about where to start....

PS...Looking at the pic, the way I pulled on the skirt loops, I have 'below bra muffin'...ack..haha

Fabulous skirt! I agree that the top half should be simple:) Have you tried a crisp white shirt with this? I could imagine that would be stunning also. How about a non chunky short / copped knit jumper? (when I say cropped I mean the modern crop not the bare midriff crop

I agree that plain tops are best with this kind of skirt but Deborah's suggestions are good - I think I would try a cropped boxy top too.

One week here and two problems solved!

I love the idea of a modern crop with it. I don't like to wear very fitted at the top and bottom, which is the case here, but I also have a big bust so loose is sometimes difficult on me.

Deborah, as you are in Oz, would you have any suggestions for where I could find something like that?

Have you checked out Angies ensembles showing pencil skirts with graphic tees, denim jackets etc etc etc? I'm also thinking predominantly white with a graphic design on the front, sleeveless, and with a round or turtleneck.

Wow...great skirt.

I think, as long as the top is either cropped or tucked, you will have a lot of options...a nice Moto jacket will look great here too.

Gorgeous skirt and it looks amazing with the shoes. I agree it is difficult about the top -- you definitely want something simple. You could tuck a simple silk shirt and that would work well.

That is a great looking outfit. I like keeping everything dark. Could you wear a black vest with it, maybe a moto or utility style? Or add texture with a quilted, leather or faux fur vest.

More good ideas. Thank you ladies. I have a few of the suggestions in my wardrobe so will give them a try. I ordered a cropped knit online which I think will work well.
