Aurore, thank you. Reading that my outfit looks casual yet sophisticated to you makes me smile and gives me confidence.
Toban, you are right. I am my own worst critic. I do love the plaid and it makes me happy. From certain angles the vest does appear to add extra weight around my middle and I sure don’t want that. I will keep the vest, but probably wear it on milder days as outerwear. Somehow a little extra bulk when enjoying the outdoors is more acceptable to me.
Oh, thank you, Viva! I have multiple renditions of the Maine uniform and try to differentiate my work clothes from weekend wear, because I almost always pull on layers, boots and plaids on my days off!
I was born in Portland :). Now I live on Mount Desert Island, home of Acadia National Park.
Angie, thank you so much! New England Casual! Yes, yes, I quite like that! The boots are Born and in addition to the comfort I like the color because it can read either gray or taupe, depending upon what other colors I am wearing.
Thank you, Joy. You are so right. Warmth must be a consideration, not just for comfort, but for safety. We have a snow day today. My Life in a Snow Globe.
Windchime, you made my day. I am happy to spread a little happiness to others! I think the success of most thing is in the details. They may be small, but the impact can be mighty.
Christina, thank you so much for adding stylish to your description of my outfit. Around here when someone says, “ you look warm” it is intended as a compliment, however that doesn’t necessarily equate to stylish!
Shevia, thank you! Similarly to my comment to Christina, I appreciate your opinion that my outfit is sensible and stylish. In my world, warmth and sensible are daily requirements. When I can manage to incorporate style my happiness factor goes up.
