WIW to the party last night - YouLookFab Forum

Thanks to everyone for the advice and suggestions on the party outfit. I usually have decided what to wear well in advance so this last minute prepping through me for a loop.

I ended up wearing the first dress; We went out shopping and I had an indecision issue so we didn't get home until 4:30 and were leaving at 5:30.

I added my pearls, the bracelet with the small black pearls, patterned tights, and new shoes. I have mentioned a few times that I have trouble investing in more expensive (based on my scale) items. I tried on a few pairs of shoes at the Bay and there was a pair made by Ivanka Trump that I thought would work and put on hold. We had a bit of time so went to the first shoe store in the mall. I tried on a few pairs including a peep toe Michael Kors. The sales boy (he was very young) brought me a pair of Stuart Weitzman pumps in patent and they felt perfect when I put them on. No pinch points or rub spots and the heel was not high. They were full price though and much more than I usually spend. I ended up buying and wearing them so hope it wasn't a mistake.

I may wear the dress again for NYE so suggestions for tweaks are very welcome.

You look beautiful, and what a great looking couple! That dress seems like it could be styled in a bunch of different ways for different occasions, and it's hard to go wrong with SW shoes.

You picked the right dress. I loved the lacy bodice one on you as well, but you were feeling more comfortable in this one, so it made sense for last night, especially because it is terrific on you! And the accessories added just the right contrast and shine. GORGEOUS shoes. I am pretty sure you won't regret it. I have never bought Stuart Weitzman shoes, either, but anyone here who has them recommends them very highly. And these are a total classic which will not date and which will serve you well for many, many years. How nice it will be to be able to reach into the closet and pull out special occasion shoes without a blink. And then feel comfortable in them.

Dressy heeled-but-not-high shoes are tough to find. Those are very pretty and you will get years of wear from them. And I'm saying that as an extremely cheap/cautious shopper

Thank you all for the generous comments. I read some of the comments to Tony and had him almost blushing. We had a great evening. The music was the most popular band locally (Ron Paley) and had about 20 members. I don't think they took a break all night.

I had a bit of sticker shock on the shoes but have recovered now and have no regrets. There was another pair at the store that I am still contemplating and may stalk.

So elegant and stylish! And is that the SW "chic" pump? If so, you will not be disappointed! I have the same shoe in 4 colors; first pair purchased 5 years ago and still made and sold by SW today. Very rare for that shoe to go on sale (usually only if it is a seasonal trend color) so likely that you would not have found it for less!
