I posted a few months ago asking for help putting together an outfit for the SF Edwardian Ball. Well, it was last night and here's what I came up with I added a tulle slip inspired by a Fabber's suggestion, and both top pieces were featured in Angie's blog posts. The skirt was a last-minute substitution after I found it on the sale racks at Anthro. I decided to leave off my corset, and for comfort it was certainly the right choice. But I felt barely dressed up compared to the many women in period ball gowns! Maybe next year...
Not pictured in Finds [ETA: now added!]: a black feathered fascinator headband I bought in New Orleans a few years ago.
What I would do differently: the shoes are gorgeous but really more "sitting shoes" than ballroom-dance-and-stand-all-night shoes.
But overall I had a blast and am so excited to dress up again next year, this time knowing what to expect and with a year to find the right pieces.
