Great story, and I love the outfit. That jacket is so cool--tough and pretty--and you wear it well!

Not only do you look great, but as you already know, dressing in a fun or unusual (in a teen's eyes, anyway) way can really give you a connection to students. I teach, and I always present myself as a super-strict, no-fun-having sort of person. I figure that then when students get to know me they will be pleasantly surprised instead of the other way around. A student asked me a question the other day about YouTube, and I told them that I didn't know about those things and that I was "boring". The student laughed and said, "Have you SEEN the shoes you wear? You're a lot of things, but not boring!" It made my day! I was wearing the shoes below that day.

That is fantastic Echo! Love that story . They take it all in and to not be boring in a teen’s eyes is golden !
