Here's my latest rendition of bass guitar wear for church services. I have been filling in since our 20ish bass player is gone on an extended mission trip. I'm sure I set myself unnecessary standards, but I don't like to wear pants or jeans to church, and I don't want to look too conservative when I'm playing with the band. And now when I'm on the bass, I prefer to do a column of color to avoid breaking up the line too much.
I got through most of the winter with black midis and boots, but it's springy enough to lighten up. I decided to layer my long black gilet (a recent HEWI) over winter white skirt and grey and white striped turtleneck. I thought a skinny belt in black wouldn't break it up too much. I had planned on grey oxfords, but the rain let up enough to let me wear my ghillie flats (DH's choice).
My favourite part? The skirt has pockets and the gilet has really high slits, so I could slouch around with my hands in my pockets.
