Thanks Brooklyn, I agree re arm candy!! The dress has a seam and sewn in belt holders so I can't change, the belt came with the dress and I quickly tried on a couple I had but the didn't work. I will look for a fine black one and I think this will be better.

Approprio - haha I am the master of getting ready quickly. I have been known to get changed in the back seat of a car, must have been my rural upbringing where I had to get dressed on the way to dancing class in the car.
Maneera - I think I have seen yours. I actually was seriously looking at another one in a sheath/draped style and tried this on as a wildcard. It was pretty inexpensive and I remembered the blog on waist definition and volume at the bottom and decided to change things up a little. I think the dress is a little more classic than I usually choose but I think it will be good for work and a couple of upcoming functions.
It was one of those days, my 11 year old was home sick, work was piling up and I almost cancelled at the last minute, but I am pleased I went along to the function. Sometimes you just have to push yourself out of the door!!
