I couldn't get much match out of my closet just now if my job depends on it. Clearly. (Poor postpartum predictions plus lots of stuff packed away for moving house this weekend.)

So I went with pretty deliberately mismatched, figuring in for a top, in for a jacket...and shoes... and bag. Charcoal pants, black and tan top (poor length for pants really, and the tummy is making it worse), and blue and tan floral print jacket in cream. Bronze flats. Green, orange, beige and grey floral print bag in cream canvas with brown leather.

Sounds mad, right? Maybe it looked mad too. Who knows what the matched suits of assorted managers and overseers made of it. I didn't mind it, honestly.

But interested in what you think. Nevereverever to be tried again? Doable with a different length top?

I think you look nice, but - don't kill me - it's a ways off from exciting. I think the stripe fights the jacket (which is gorgeous by the way).

I agree that a longer top would be better but it sounds like you have quite a lot on your schedule right now so you're doing great.

You know what? You were wearing a jacket-like topper. For the suits, that is what counts. And I like that yours is feminine -- it's neat. I actually quite like it with the stripe top. Doesn't look mad -- but you have so much on your plate right now!

I rather like the idea of this:) I also think a longer top might be a better choice but I find the combo of the stipe and the floral(?) jacket quite appealing. I recall dressing after baby and it was challenging. Without realising it I developed a small capsule and wore it over and over lol

I was a SAHM and free to pull on whatever fit, was comfy, and was relatively clean. Can't imagine the challenge of dressing for suits postpartum.

Manidipa as far as I can tell your essential intelligence pretty much transcends and elevates everything you wear. Ok, try a longer top though just for fun.

I like the tops together --- they actually "go" quite well, and the shorter top isn't a deal breaker for me. The color and necklines are very flattering. I think trousers have got to be most difficult for your shifting body, and these aren't a perfect fit. That said, the color and length are perfect, and the fit issues are subtle and aren't going to be noticeable -- particularly by a bunch of "suits." Your shoes are the perfect touch, and good footwear is key to comfort and polish.

When you get moved, I'd suggest trying a skirt as base for a "meeting" look. Take the time to put it together so your sleep-deprived self has something to reach for! I was so glad I had pre-planned my Festival Mini-Capsule when I received a call invited my family to the amusement park in one hour. I don't do rushed mornings!

Rachy, no worries. I was earlier not very happy with the stripe and the floral together. Completely agree they are at odds actually. Only this time I thought since everything is mismatched, what the hey, let's go with it.

Yes, the trousers were great before the belly landed. Now, not so much. And a friend or two may be around to help. We're actually trying to do a couple of car trips (well, SO is) each day from tomorrow to get small stuff (baby things, kitchenware, cartons of books and clothes, a cotton-stuffed and a grass mattress) over to the new place before I move with the baby. Movers can be had relatively inexpensively here to bring the furniture over in an open truck. So hopefully, it won't be too tedious. It's unpacking, putting it all away, and cleaning stuff after it travels through the smoggy city that is the hard part. We'll just have to knuckle down and do that slowly.
