WIW to I, Tonya. Tucked in or not?

Last night I went to see "I, Tonya" (I liked it a lot- there is a lot of swearing, but it makes you think and is entertaining)

I wore this look - the photos confirmed to me that tucked in was better- despite my preference for untucked tops.

What do you think?

I don’t know Sally. I like both! The tucked version gives you a longer leg line and is a bit more figure flattering but the untucked version has a relaxed look that I am very partial to. I think the second one could work better if the jacket were a little longer or a little shorter than the top, to break up the horizontal line across the legs. But it’s not easy to arrange that. I have the same problem with layering longer tops. Anyhow, you look fab in both!

I think you look fab in both too... and I think a partial tuck could work well as it would break up the vertical line of the two tops. Your hair looks great.

Thanks Bijou and Brooklyn- interesting. I agree - with a cropped jacket I think untucked would be good. It is an area I struggle with-matching tops to jackets so I appreciate your good eyes!!

I like both. Your legs look longer with the tucked version and the jacket looks good, but as Brooklyn says the untucked version has a nice relaxed feel.
I'm impressed at how good your waist looks in the tucked version. I don't tuck much as I prefer to hide my ( lack of) a waist!

I also enjoy both. I think that the tucked-in version is a little more polished, which works well for going to a performance, and the untucked version has a more casual vibe. I think the proportions work well in both.

They’re both cute- tucked is a little more fashiony/dressy.
But untucked is fine too.

They're both good but I prefer the tucked. Someone else mentioned the half tuck - that's my favorite look with casual outfits. It gives you the slimming effect of the tuck but keeps it casual and a little more comfortable.

yes, it's interesting to that we often see something cleared in a photo...
anyway, in this outfit, because of the lenght of the tee and the lenght of the jacket/blaazer, i refer the tee tucked (or at least a half tuck)...

I like both, but tucked feels more fresh to me. A friend of mine also really liked this film - I must see it now!

Like both! I also struggle with jacket and too lengths. Makes it hard to have as versatile a wardrobe as I would like, as not everything can wirk with everything, naturally.

Nice outfit. Casual cool, with great simple accessories. Both version work well. I also like the tuck a bit better with this jacket length for the structure and leg line.

I vote tucked. For untucked, I would want a cropped hip-length topper, I think.

I agree with others : both are good, but tucked looks great on you. I'm not a tucker, and am all too aware of how dumpy it can look. I wouldn't mind see this movie, too.

I like them both, but I always greatly admire the tuck ins on others, on you, too! I have strong apple tendencies and am now unfortunately many pounds ower my ideal weight-so I only do things untucked:-(.

Thanks all (now at work and cannot reply in more detail sorry) I have a strong tendency to not tuck things in as I am short waisted - and I have never had a completely flat stomach.

I am off to the movies again this week and I will wear the same jeans and top with different shoes and jacket and I am pretty sure untucked will be better (heels and a cropped jacket). I will post similar pics.

The only other time I tuck is with columns of colour when it definitely is easier to do.
