WIW: to Harvard Square

Heading into Boston to meet my niece and her Aussie boyfriend for some Greek food. It promises to be a little chilly tonight, or at least not hot, so I am pulling out a new lightweight sweater and my fave booties from last year. It's fun to get out of pure summer wear.

I tried on that sweater this week because of the great colors in it, including olive to go with my new jacket.

Unfortunately it made me look like I was back in 3rd grade. It looks way better on you and more the way I had hoped- so I will enjoy it vicariously

So, I got a few details wrong. The BF's not Aussie. He's Croatian by birth, raised in New Zealand. And we weren't in Harvard Square. We ended up in the South End (Mochi, I bet I was even closer to you?) -- at Kava Neo Taverna. Diana / other locals, try this place for amazing Greek food (life changing feta!!!). Small, loud, busy, $$, and delish.

Angie and Aida: thanks for the "glowing" remarks. Part of the end of summer means transition from summer makeup (just a dab of LM tinted moisturizer, and light on everything else) to a more "done" face (Nars tinted moisturizer, which has much more coverage but a dewy look, blush, more eyeliner, etc.). As the years go by, it's clear my skin benefits from the extra help. I feel more put together in the fall and this is part of it. Thanks for noticing.

Unfrumped: I get what you mean about looking like a 3rd grader. Styling maybe? I might think twice about wearing it with straight jeans and white sneakers. I'm sorry it didn't work for you.

And Lisa, I am definitely up for a Boston meetup. Will start a thread in Off Topic.

First Friday was fairly empty yesterday. I think many locals are out of town. You might have been extremely lucky with the one-hour wait. In any case, that's fantastic. I have to go there. It's always mobbed when I bike by the place, and it just had a fabulous review in the Globe.
