WIW to go Ballroom Dancing

I wore this to my ballroom studio's monthly social dance party. I was asked to do an east coast swing exhibition dance. I hadn't planned on performing for the audience but thankfully swing is one of my 'signature' dances. So my nerves didn't overcome me when I got the spur of moment request.

My teacher and dance partner my dress would be great to wear for a Jailhouse themed tango. Knowing him, we will probably end up doing that one of these days. LOL

That dress in the photo certainly fits in with the jail house theme! I come from more of a Latin dance background so I am not an expert on ballroom but if the outfits are similar, most would want a loose skirt to show off the footwork plus a shorter skirt, once again to show off the footwork. Aside from that, your dress looks good!

Thanks Laura. I do both American Smooth and American Rhythm dance styles. For competition or a showcase performance, I would wear a shorter skirt to do just like you said...show off the footwork. It was a pretty informal setting and the my teacher/partner asked me to perform at the spur of the moment. I definitely would have worn a different outfit if I had known we would be performing. Lol

Great dress, it would totally work for a Jailhouse tango stylistically. I would be a little careful with the length though, as it would b easy to step on when going backwards and have an accident happen.
It is fun to see fellow ballroom dancers here I do all the four styles, though my focus are Standard first, and Latin second. I have stepped a couple of times on a too-long dress, in competition no less, and if it wasn't for quick reflexes of my partner, I would have ended up on the floor.
