WIW to feed the geese and play fetch with Cosmo Edward

Nothing terribly interesting, just an average Sunday afternoon outfit. These BF's are one size up and are quite baggy (I know they don't look it in photos). I had to take 4 tucks in the waistband and wear a belt just to get them to stay up! I am at peace with the baggy butt.

It was a gorgeous spring day here (quite windy but I'll take that over snow any day), so DH and I decided to take Cosmo Edward and head out on a road trip to Cooperstown, NY. After a stop at a cider mill to buy some delicious molasses cookies and feed the geese in the pond (no we didn't feed them the cookies!), we headed out to the Clark Sports Complex to run around the rolling hills and play fetch. Oh if every day could just be as beautiful as this one!

Yes, Niefern, Cosmo Edward is an American Cocker Spaniel. He just celebrated his 2nd birthday.

Lantana, I originally was going to wear this with a red belt and I would have faux tucked the top, but this was no-fuss and a bit more practical for the day's activities!

Yes, Diana, everyone should have red shoes! I pretty much repeated the outfit today but with red flats instead of sneaks. I also rolled up the BF's one more roll and scrunched them so they were just below the knee. On another note, Old Navy has lots of these tops in different colors - the fabric is nice and thick and they are incredibly comfy.

Angie, it's funny you mentioned preppy - just the other day I was thinking that there are several preppy items in my wardrobe, and how I am really liking that element of my style - and how I hated the mere mention of the word just a few years back (but I think I've always been harboring a hidden preppy gene)!

What a glorious Sunday you had! I always get a kick when reading Cosmo Edward's name, sounds so formal to me, what is the story behind his name? Your outfit looks simply perfect for your activities, well put together and comfy. Love the action shot, everybody's happy.

Gracie, there is a story behind Cosmo Edward's name. It goes like this:

As a pup, he was listed as silver and white (his fur now looks more beige than silver). One of my favorite movies is "Moonstruck" and in the movie reference is made to "Cosmo's moon." Well, the moon is silver, so...hence the first name, "Cosmo." As for his middle name, DH's cousin always gives dogs middle names. She came over for a cookout, picked up Cosmo and declared, "His middle name should be Edward." Well, as young pups are, he was quite devilish, and every time he would get into something he shouldn't I would call him by both names, much as mothers do when reprimanding their children. He has since learned the rules of the house but both names just stuck.

My MIL always tells me his name is too formal but I tell her it's sophisticated

Karie, just had to pop in to let you know how much I enjoyed hearing the story behind Cosmo Edward's name. How delightful! Moonstruck is one of my favorite films, too. My Siberian Husky's name is Winter, as named by the shelter we adopted him from. That was the name of his predecessor, my Great Pyrenees who was the Empress of Everything, so it seemed like fate that we should both take him and keep the name. His middle name is decidedly NOT sophisticated: it's FuzzHead. He's a funny, funny dog who has a sense of humor. It fits.
