Our nephew got married this afternoon to a truly lovely woman, and it was both strange and delightful to celebrate with them in a semblance of the before times.

After the ceremony and cocktails, the festivities kicked off with a rousing hora, and I swear it felt like a collective release of almost two years of pent up energy. The bride and groom, the parents, and even grand parents had a turn being hoisted on chairs above the crowd. This part of a Jewish wedding is always wonderful, but on this occasion it felt particularly powerful

After much back and forth over the past few weeks, I wore both pieces of the EF silk pant set with the grey velvet topper and patent loafers. Small sparkly earrings and a vintage necklace were my 'bling'. My evening bag was a gift from the MOG many years ago. Her mother was there with the same bag. At least not the same dress!!

Of the groom's four aunts in attendance, two wore black evening pants, one a black dress and one a navy dress -- so black was definitley not out of place. MOG and MOB also wore black. (MOB was stunning in a long sleeved black and gold sort of brocade -looking cocktail length dress with fitted bodice and full skirt with a wide belt at the waist.)

Anyway, here I am looking a little worse for wear after arriving home from an evening of as much dancing as I could possibly manage. I firmly believe that when given the option, you should always choose to dance! The topper came off when the dancing heated up. I tried dance a little for you in the last shot!

Thanks to everyone here who helped me navigate the somehow very daunting challenge of getting dressed for this night. How funny that after all the options I considered I found the main part of the outfit already in my closet. And I'm thankful for those who pushed me to try just a bit harder to find shoes - the black patent loafers worked out quite well -- although I did end up wearing heavy socks in them to keep them on my feet. Not glam, but effective. I'll be glad I have those shoes in my closet.

I've gotta get some sleep! Thanks for looking!!!
