Happy Sunday Ladies.

Our weather is so weird! Late November and it's too cool for open toe footwear?!?!?

Anyway, Church this morning and by the time I was heading home, I almost needed a jacket. The faux leather top is new. I picked it up for a song yesterday and I was keen to see how I might make it work.

The pants are French Connection and were brought to my attention by Caro in Oz at the beginning of the year. (Thank you Caro ) They are a dropped crotch pant and haven't had a lot of wear yet as I do find it challenging to get the outfit proportions right. The right footwear and top seem crucial for getting it right. I think the silhouette here works and creating more of an hour glass seems good with the pants. Not sure if photo clear, but I am wearing a leather Obi belt.

I also carried the clutch below in my finds but forgot to get a pic:)

What do you think? I find leather/faux leather can be tricky to photograph and can also add to one's frame - photos can give it a rubbery look (so not what I am going for lol) so I am hoping this is ok.

Wow, what a cool look! Church must be very different from when I had to go as a child. I had special ultra conservative church dresses that did not sit well by the time I became a rebellious teen. Lol

You wear all black beautifully and the different textures look great. I love the 'leather' top.

Ps. It is so hot and unpleasantly humid up here, with thunder and lightening at the moment.

Love the waist definition combined with harem/drop crotch pants. What a great way to add structure to a fundamentally unstructured pant.

Oh it works alright. This silhouette is very good. You look sexy. Not at all as if you are going to church haha. Fun to have a colour pop with the clutch.

You nailed it! I've always found the Leith track pants hard to style for the same reason, the proportions have to be just right. You did great with the proportions here!

The added structure in the seaming and crisp neckline balances the drape of the pants nicely. I think that the light in photos bounces back off of some leathers and faux-leathers, but I don't this this effect is visible face to face. I also think the wonderful texture and structure of the top offsets any sense of bulkiness from the thickness of the fabric -- very flattering.

The simple styling and ladylike heel keep it elegant and restrained for church!

Simply gorgeous! I like the faux leather look (it looks real, not rubbery) and the way the obi belt gives a feminine touch to the tough vibe of the leather. The proportions with the pants are fab, too.
