I meet once a month with a fabulous group of women for our book club. They are such an articulate, interesting, fun and fashionable group of people, I enjoy it so much. We had a great discussion last night along with drinks and appetizers, it was a lovely evening.

My outfit was fairly casual as I kept on the same thing I wore during the day. My nine year old son has been home sick with the flu for the past four days and I've been attending to him. I cannot remember a time that one of my children has been taken down so hard by an illness, it is horrible. Thinking he is on the upswing this morning, thankfully.

So, what I wore... I will confess that I am not a great lover of stripes on myself at all. Love them on other people, yet they seem super widening on me. I think it is my broad shoulders. Although the pic doesn't really show it, the sweater is quite drapey which makes the stripes hang more asymmetrically, which helps me some.

I paired with with my new scarf. I'm so not a scarf girl at all, partly the fiddliness, and I think I look best when I show some neck. But I kind of enjoyed it in combination with the stripes, tempered them somehow.

Fiorentini and Baker Eternity boots. And my new bag, the Phillip Lim Pashli. I'm completely enchanted with dark green at the moment, and have wanted this bag for a while. They recently added a shoulder strap to it which compelled me to buy it. I do think it is a little big. I'm fairly tall with a large frame, so it could definitely overwhelm some. I'm keeping it in any case because it is quite fab. But I'm wondering, what type of outfits does a larger bag pair best with?
