We went to a fabulous wedding reception the other night — our friends/neighbors had a ceremony last year but waited months for the reception because the venue they dearly wanted was not available until now. It was worth the wait! It was at the Baltimore Museum of Art, and since I am a member, I’ve been there many times, but never for an event like this. It was gorgeous and so much fun!
I really shirked planning an outfit for this for way too long. My dresses are not fitting well now (trying not to let menopausal weight gain depress me but it’s hard), so I had a couple of fallback ideas. This one — a navy blue jumpsuit with a mesh overlay — was comfortable and easy to dance in, and felt just formal enough. Attire was cocktail-black tie, so I didn’t stand out. I threw on my white cape-jacket, which also helped elevate the look. Blingy shoes, clutch, and jewelry finished it off.
Including some pics of the venue — the flowers were off the charts! And you get to see Jamie and me dancing (LOL), and us on the way out, sweaty and disheveled but happy.
