Yesterday we attended a wedding that took place at the Liberty Hotel, which is a luxury hotel in a renovated former jail built in the mid-19th century.
I knew I wanted to wear my black lace Allsaints wrap dress, as I haven't gotten a chance to wear it yet this summer and for an evening wedding at a swanky hotel, a LBD is a perfect choice. (J. wore his tuxedo.) I waffled a bit about whether or not I wanted to wear my hat, because it is navy and my dress is black, but in the end I decided to wear it anyway, and I'm really glad I did, because it was just perfect for the ambiance of the venue and I got a ton of compliments on it. I kept the rest of the accessories black and simple - black strappy sandals, my black patent purse (not my favorite, but all my other bags were too eye-catching and drew attention away from the dress and hat), and no jewelry except for watch (I'm not sure you can tell here but my Movado is actually navy) and rings.
