WIW to a friend's one-woman play

I really enjoyed Angie's triple neutral wear of white (pullover, belt and shoes) with her recent tartan outfit as she delightfully stared down a sometimes-heard guideline of not wearing more than two pieces of the same color in one outfit. I loved it that she looked this guideline in the face and did her own thing. Angie's Outfit

I chose to do the same thing today to see my friend's one-woman play, which is part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Motivated by Angie's fabulous look and a recent inspiring denim shorts outfit by Janet, I happily wore my denim shorts with a white belt (#1), my cute Zara butterfly short-sleeve blouse, white patent baby-wedge flats (hello #2) which I only bought for a Halloween costume when I was a Go-Go dancer and used them with white spats that came with the packaged costume (as I didn't want to splurge on white boots!). I now wear them frequently after seeing Angie, regularly, in white shoes and I'm so happy I rediscovered them. I topped my outfit off with my new white Vince Camuto blazer (there's piece #3 of the same color trio).

I loved my solo day in L.A. honoring and supporting this actor who lost her husband to cancer far too early in his young life. She was brilliant!

Love the casual yet polished nature of this outfit! The jeans shorts add the most ease to the outfit, while the blazer provides the most structure. The blouse is somewhere in between the two -- soft and dressy at the same time. While the shoes and belt are summery, fun and bold. It takes guts to wear white shoes and belts I've decided!

That outfit of Angie's was one of my all time favorites. Sometimes an outfit just pushes all of your right buttons, doesn't it.

I love the look you have created. Those bits of white make it sing and your bag is sublime (I must get one. I don't know why I haven't yet).

Karymk, your outfit sounds perfect for our So. Cal. weather and I KNOW how you feel about these "summer" autumn days we're having. Eek! I just looked at the nameless belt and can only tell you that it's soft white leather with silver hardware purchases a number of years ago. It's a belt mystery at this point in my life.

You are too cute! Love the white items. Who says November has to be slave to fall tones, especially when the sun is shining like it was today? You also make me want to dig out my butterfly shirt.
