Hi Fab Ones!

Went to a baby shower this afternoon for a girl who works with me at the Community Lunch.

Baby Shower always suggests to me outfits that are soft, pretty and feminine!?!?!? I think I might be stereotyping a little! Well I guess that's not quite my thing so in the five minutes I had to get dressed (I didn't time manage myself very well this morning) I asked myself (quickl) what is 'soft' in my wardrobe? So I went with navy instead of all black

I wore my navy skinny ponte pants, sleeveless navy draped tunic and finished it with a drape black cardigan and black booties. Accessorized with my leather bracelet, silver hoop earrings and a new ring I bought a week or so ago.

Decided on a 'daytime' clutch in black and silver and was good to go. It turned out to be a VERY relaxed affair stylewise and I was more than appropriately dressed.. and I was really happy with how this turned out.

Thanks for looking and your thoughts and / or suggestions for improvement always very appreciated.

Black and blue! I love it. The blue mani is amazing. I do think the top is soft, but your style is soft while also hard edge. It's a very powerful style combination, a sort of yin and yang, that is totally your own. Thanks for sharing your awesome inspiring style with us Deborah. Your fan Denise.

Denise, thank you! You are such a sweetie and so encouraging. I feel that I have really fallen into my 'natural' style. Outfits (mostly) come together easily and I am really really happy with what I am putting together. And you must know that the feeling is mutual... your fan Deborah:)

I think not only blue top is stunning on you and makes it all as baby-showery as dark-colour outfit can be (if we talk in stereotypical terms), but it actually allows the outfit to be enjoyed more to me as a viewer. I can see all pieces individually just perfectly. Navy blue and black worn together also suggests style confidence. Great touch with the nail polish, bracelet and the ring, they bring everything together. Introducing b&w clutch was a cherry on top. I love, love the whole thing.

What a great point from Denise about Yin and Yang, so true. Your look is really coming into its own and you seem so happy in your skin. It shines through Great outfit! Jewellery and mani are perfect finishing touches.

One little humorous note was when I read "baby shower" and then read that you were wearing "booties," my mind immediately imagined "crocheted black booties."
