WIW Thurs - part II evening - YouLookFab Forum

I was wearing my Leith's from Suz around the house with a dot tank. But the BF called to say he was off early so I changed to go out to eat (usually he's home after 9pm when the restaurants in town are already closed). It was too hot out for the Leith's although I was enjoying them in the a/c of the house

I had a realization that I don't want to get 'dressed up' or fancy per se for such occasions as casual dining, but I want to feel stylish no matter my level of dressiness. Was totally happy with this and comfortable among the tshirt and flip flop crowd.

I think this is great. Even though shorts and a tank are casual pieces, the metal sandals and collar make the outfit look quite dressy and definitely stylish.

And I love the soft color of the tee on you. I am sure you were the best dressed woman in the crowd, without being too "done" or out of place like you are trying too hard.

(It's suddenly winter here in the CA mountains! They closed the Tioga pass, maybe it will re-open, but my forecast that summer would linger until Nov. 10th is shot.)

You look fabulous Mo. A level above what others are wearing I imagine but not in an over the top way. You will blend in seamlessly but be the one everyone drools over.

Thanks everyone! It is interesting to try and find the happy medium between overdressed for the occasion/surroundings and how you want to present yourself. I think a step or two above is still comfortable, but once you are very much differently dressed you become (or at least I feel) conspicuous, no matter if your outfit is great or not.
Funny side note - the BF said oh another new Mo shirt! Me: um, no, I wore it to Fiona Apple last year, remember? Of course not lol. Wearing something once a year will not make it stick out in a man's memory, even a fashion appreciative man lol. Still working on wearing my stuff more
