WIW This week Sunflower Bomber and a B44 Miss

The intent was to wear items I had not worn all summer. I veered dangerously off course and missed a few photo days.
1. First Day of School ON top I wore to death last year and not at all this year. Love the tribal/geo print of it. Red Halogen seamed pencil skirt, Necessary Objects jacket, Sigrid Olsen bag, VanEli pumps, surly (not really, but in this photo) 2nd grader
2. Full disclosure: NEW navy sheath Jones NY ($24 after discounts and on my fall must have list) Boden stripe jacket, Cole Haan Wedges. Bonus: Sunflower girl Bomber.
3. Attempt at Angie copy of midi skirt (mine is linen Ralph very full) and White button down ( LL Bean), animal print belt (Gap) shoes Naturalizer. Did not in the end like this combo on me, but the idea is still there.
4-5. My Bailey 44 Orange dress long awaited and not keeping. This is without shapewear, but I really am more unhappy with the quality (originally $188 I expected much thicker material), I think I've realized I'm just not a body con va va voom gal. DH was not overly excited. Tried with Matisse booties, and nude boots and camel jacket) I lamely tried styling (5) but in the end it is not enough me to justify even the half price discount. On to better things.

Love one and two!! I agree with moving on to better things with the striped dress as it doesn't flatter your lovely self. Cute sidekicks too!

I am drooling over your style in #1, and I love #2 also. Re: #3, can you pull your skirt up to your waist more? I think that would make the whole look be a lot more kicky! I actually kind of like the dress with the boots and jacket. It needs shape wear (which I wear all the time) but it looks like one of those dresses that 1 pound could make a difference of flattery or not. You probably wouldn't naturally grab for it.

I just chopped my B44 dress this morning! Could you hike it up and see if that would help? It's flattering but not forgiving to me, so I can only wear it on "skinny" days.

Three, while I see how Angie inspired you, perhaps you could make a few tweaks to make it your own? I agree with Dana on trying trying to bring the skirt up to your waist.

Four doesn't really seem to fit your style, although it comes closer in the fifth picture. All the worse if you don't like the material as you won't chose it from your closet. Can you return the dress? If not, I would see if you can consign it. Or maybe try eBay.

I am loving 1 and 2. I actually like the Bailey with the blazer and boots, but yes, it can be too vadaboom, off to big and better things.

Love #1 and #2! I echo Dana on trying to pull up the skirt a bit. The B44 dress doesn't seem too go with your style and if you feel that it is too body con, move on to better things.

Jj you look amazing. The red skirt is too die for! All very put together a d stylish looks. The B44 dress I agree souls go back. I never posted but I had the same issue with one (an Aussie version) that I tried on. I found it very unforgiving and the fabric too thin not firm and flattering. It's just not good enough for you. I did buy the skirt version though and I love it. If you are particularly interested in this style maybe a skirt could be an option? I think that might be more in keeping with your style:)

1,2 and 3 are beautiful outfits that look gorgeous on you(and , of course, the bonus darlings on 1 &2 make all the diference)

I was also kind of not impressed in the beginning with the fabric of the B44 but although it seems very thin it has hold on pretty well , is warm and camouflages more than I though at first. However I had to size up a lot so that it fell comfortable, even if form fitting.

Love love love the B44 dress with the jacket and boots but the bottom line is if you're not happy with it, then no point in keeping it.

Your son and daughter are so cute! 1-3 are very much your style. I actually love #5 on you with the boots and jacket, but your face says it all. If you're not happy with it, you're not going to wear it. It's too bad, because it's really pretty on you, but I can see it's kind of different from your usual style.

Jeanne, I adore you in #1 and 2. #1 just knocked my socks off. So polished and professional and with an ON top, yet!! That seamed skirt in red is fantastic.

As for the dress, I completely agree that without the jacket it's not the best. BUT - with the jacket and boots it's sensational on you. I guess it's all a question of whether you can spend that kind of money for something you don't love. I vote send it back if it's not you.

Adorable kidlets Jj. I think the silhouettes in #1 and #1 are great on you and you look very confident in them. Number 3 does appear to be sitting below the natural waist and mucking with the proportions a bit.

The B44 dress looks nice with the jacket and booties but if that is the only way you feel comfortable wearing it, then it might not be worthy of closet space. Knits are hard. Some just flow beautifully over the body and other grab and cling to everything.

As much as I LOVE outfit #5 - you should return the dress if you can. Can you? YOU have to wear the outfit, and not us!

THank you all. I knew wearing it that the B44 dress did not feel ME. I love the color. I love the length, but in the end I would feel self conscious wearing it and not be able to wear it to work because of this. I can return no problems, so have chalked this up to a good lesson learned. I can move on from my intense longing for one of these dresses, enjoy them on those who wear them so well and spend my $ on something I'll enjoy more. I'm learning to really be picky, but in the best way.
