WIW this week plus pic of jewelry cabinet

Hello fabbers. I spent the weekend away in Melbourne for a conference and did a little Winter boot shopping and sightseeing while I was there. I'm wearing a new pair in pic 2.

It's finally starting to get below 20 degrees C here and I feel that I have more options for outfits instead of battling with the heat. Here's what I've been wearing to work this week.

#1. My wildcard skirt from Basque worn with Zara top and CR heels from ages ago

#2. Prada dress from Ebay around 8 yrs ago, Zara shirt, new Clarks boots

#3. Close up of pin from outfit 2. I kept this from the 80s.

#4. Cue fine wool polo, Rick Owens skirt, old Nine West boots, Peter Lang pendant that I bought in the 80s and discovered in one of my drawers.

What a wonderful jewelry cabinet! Skirt #1 is so pretty and graceful. The Prada dress and Rick Owens skirt are a little hard to see due to the light--fun to find that dress on ebay! I love seeing older pins and brooches being worn and often wear them myself on a jacket or coat. I think older jewelry can add a lot of interest -- the pin you are wearing is so striking against the simple collar and jacket.

This post is like a yummy feast. Your outfits and jewelry are so ladylike and interesting, the jewelry cabinet is going to bring on many a green-eyed envy monster. Fabulous! The bonus photos are fun and make mr grateful that we don't have to wear bustles and such today.

Jill, I love older jewelry and when organising my new jewelry cabinet I found a few 'vintage' (that I wore in the 80s) pieces that I had held on to but forgotten. Bonus! Joy, I bought the cabinet from the $2 store. I thought it was such a great deal at $120 with the mirror door. It's amazing how a good mirror can inspire outfit experimentation. Aren't the bustles incredible. Some of the waists were so tiny and I couldn't help think about the organ displacement that they caused! Suz, I love how you have described my influences! I have been trying to mix across my 3 capsules and have been getting better at it I think.

Thanks for including the exhibit shots...I love things like that. Sadly on my visit to the V&A two weeks ago with Jane from the forum we weren't allowed to take photos around the exhibition..it was the history of underwear and we saw some bustles...collapsible ones too!

How fun to see your fabulous outfits again, Coco. Always a treat. #1 and #2 are Killer looks. Nice layering and diagonal lines. And what a beautifully organized way to store your jewellery. Impressive.

I love your style - you have such a cool look with your hair, your clothes, accessories, all of it. The Prada dress and buttoned up shirt is very interesting - is that a pin you have at the neck ? And I certainly love your jewellery cabinet - I'd love to find something like that to get myself organized.

Lisa it's an old pin that I once wore and then kept because I figured I would resurrect it one day..lol.

I have all sorts of weird and wonderful things that I've kept from the 80s. I was a bit of a punk back then, with short spiky bleached blonde hair and lots of leather and studs. I still have my studded dog collar choker....although it's just for fun memories, not to wear anymore.
