I haven't been taking outfit photos for a while (started with camera issue, then outfits felt not worth memorializing). But this week I feel back in the swing of things. For one thing, I have rekindled my love for oxfords. For another, I've remembered how to top off slim pants.
1 Black houndstooth cords with cognac belt, grey oxfords, white crewneck fisherman sweater (really more of a boatneck), and spotted scarf to tie the colours together.
2 Black Watch cropped trousers, a HEWI found this week at Old Navy of all places. (I know, they are a classic that should be everywhere, but never seen in my size before.) Worn with fisherman turtleneck sweater and black slipper flats. I prefer the look with bare ankles but much too cold, so I added the striped socks but modeled it both ways.
3. Black Ponte skinnies with black belt, red pinstripe men's shirt (buttons on the other side), sweater vest, red and plum houndstooth socks, and black patent oxfords. I'm not crazy about the slice of tummy between the cropped vest and mid-rise pants, but I liked the rest too much to change anything.
For me this is the right amount of menswear vibe without looking masculine. Each outfit made me smile whenever I glimpsed it.
