After weeks of feeling uninspired I am back in skirts this week. We are finally, at long last, have some sunny weather in Seattle and it is glorious! Sadly, I am also sick. I cam down with the flu on Monday and, even though I'm mostly recovered I've lost my voice from coughing too much! Aaargh!

I am a jewelry newbie (for complicated reasons I don't want to go into), and wore a necklace for the first time today (pic 1). Very exciting. How did I do? I know, it's barely visible...

Oh gosh, I'm sorry you're not feeling well! I like all of your outfits. 2 is very creatively layered and I like that a lot. I love the skirt in #3!

I love the lightened up look of 1--the skirt is so breezy and pretty! I love the denim jacket with that. Your other skirt looks are fab too--you are the epitome of elegant! The blue skirt is so striking and the layered look in 2 is just divine!

So sorry you are ill. But a person would never know it! My goodness. I love you in skirts!!

It's really remarkable how different you are able to look in different outfits. You can easily go from soft to dramatic. What a variety this week, with the high/low of #1, the demure ladylike (with some irony) of #2 and the walk-on-the-wild side of #3. Love them all.

ETA thank you for your belt suggestion in my thread; that is PERFECT! Now to run out and find one...

I have always loved seeing your WIW's but meeting you in person at the Christmas time meet up was even greater. My daughter Niki and I both think you are gorgeous and you and your style are a walking piece of art.

I love all your outfits, especially #3. I wish I could pull off that edgy/vintage/femme thing you do. (Still trying to figure out what my style actually is, but I know what looks good on other people!) I hardly ever wear skirts or dresses, but those three looks make me want to make more of an effort. I'm a Seattleite too, so I share your joy at finally having some nice weather that allows for spring-ier clothes.

Suz has already said better everything I was going to say about the outfits. BEAUTIFUL, all of them. I'm absolutely fascinated by your style. Can't get over the colour-blocked skirt or the pattern mixing and layering of #2. And jewellery is spot-on in both instances!

I have a deep love of both avant garde and very girly styles. My natural tendency is to feel like I should go towards the avant garde because it's more interesting to me...but I LOOK best in the very feminine "retro" (or classic, I like to think) shapes.

Oh yes Jenava, you're right! You look amazing in these feminine silhouettes but you make them completely unpredictable and exciting. I don't think girly and avant garde are mutually exclusive. I hope you will explore this some more. Summer is coming; the skirt loves you!!

You certainly look well:). #1 is lovely with the casual denim against the pretty, soft ladylike skirt. #2 looks very vintage to me, I like it a lot and #3 ...well that skirt is so stunning amd the leather looks great against it. Jenava, you have amazing taste and style! These are all three beautiful, modern and cool. Your make up and hair are stunning as well. The first outfit is sweet and pretty and the distressed denim is what takes it from well coordinated to mega stylish. The different textures in #2 make me think of Chanel and I love the way the colors are tonal and harmonious. #3 proves that you can create a spring outfit with black leather and tall boots. I don't have a favorite because they are all so killer to the power of. I bow to your mastery.

I would never have guessed that you were sick, because you look so gorgeous! I love all of these outfits, and agree with alaskagirl that you manage to be edgy and retro feminine at the same time. Very cool! And the necklace looks great -- it doesn't jump out at you, but it does complement the outfit beautifully. Very nice accessorizing.

Thanks again, I felt really good in all of these, despite being sick. The key for me is to carefully plan my outfits. Since my work week is usually hectic, the weather is usually unpredictable, and I often have to walk between buildings across town, it's a challenge to find practical outfits that ALSO make me happy in terms of the details being how I like them. Taking the time to plan the outfits out really saved me this week when i wasn't feeling well. I credit Angie, who helped me put together these looks. If it weren't for her, well, I'd probably have worn corduroy skinnies and a tee-shirt all week!
