Some WIWs from this workweek....

1-2 Old Navy Dress, Grey Draped Cardigan, Black Patent heels - Thinking I should have left off the cardigan?
3: Grey RW&Co dress pants, Blue top from Jacob, Black Cardigan, Black Patent Heels. Sorry about the bad light - I promise that top is a lovely jewel toned blue!
4-5 Casual Friday! American Eagle Bootcuts (I guess it was YLF wear bootcuts day today!) , Colorblock Tank, Purple Cardigan, Black Loafers. I love this top in theory, and it looks okay under cardigans, but on it's own I think it is not that flattering...

Your creative ideas for livening up my style are always appreciated! What would you add or do differently?

Yay for bootcuts! So funny that a lot of us had the yen to wear them today. You look great in your jeanst outfit. I understand about the top though. It looks as if the armholes may be cut a bit high for you, which is one reason you might prefer it with a cardigan.

You have such a terrific figure; you look terrific in the ON dress (and make it look much more expensive). And I'll bet you are gorgeous in blue.

Do you have particular style goals in mind? It is tough to make suggestions without knowing what direction you're headed.

Hmmm... I'm not sure how to define my style goals, aside from "less boring". I definitely am drawn to classic cuts and neutral colors. I suppose I admire both tougher and vintage-inspired bombsell styles.

I love your first outfit, it's so up my alley - and I think the cardigan looks great with it (but I'm very biased) - it sort of gives it the "outfit" vibe!

How do you find the quality of Old Navy dresses?

Lyn, I was impressed with that particular dress (http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/.....=332796022, can't find it on the canadian site anymore) in terms of quality, the fabric is pretty substantial. I am hoping it holds up well in the wash. The belt that comes with is a throwaway, though. Other dresses I've had from ON have been hit and miss, as per ON in general

If your style goal is "less boring" may I suggest adding some accessories with pattern, for example scarfs and belts....Even a patterned cardigan would take it up a notch!
Angie wrote a great post yesterday, I believe on adding pattern, color , texture and shine to an outfit that might really be helpful.

Yes, and I found this little mantra on Shannon's pinterest....I am going to try to make use of it myself to see if I can inject more interest into my outfits.
