WIW: Then and now

Copying Carla, StyleFan and Jenn, here are a couple old outfits, and then several newer ones.

1. From seven years ago - my very first WIW! The coat didn’t fit very well. I had thrifted it, and so I re-donated it.
2. Five years ago. I think I just got the pewter boots. I’m wearing the exact same top in 7! I donated the jacket. It wasn’t very warm and had no pockets.
3-7. From fairly recently, the last two years or so, to this summer. 5 and 7 are probably the most “me”. 3 was for playing handbells. 5 was for voting early. It’s obvious I still love stripes!

Correct me if I’m wrong, JAileen, but I seem to remember Angie regularly suggesting that you ‘size down’ when you posted try ons back in the early days. You certainly learned that lesson - the fit in your more recent pics is bang on. I do love your colour choices in ALL your outfits. The white booties are fabulous! I don’t recall seeing them before?

Carla, yes, you’re right. I have always had a hard time seeing fit on me. I can see it on others, though. It was fun looking through old pictures. Thank you for the inspiration!

Definitely a sort of cool factor for the more recent outfits compared with the first and even second one. It’s mostly the shoes!
3 probably my fave but also 5,6,7.

Janet, you made subtle but very significant changes to your style -- footwear, fit, and cohesion are so much more evident now than when you began! You are looking wonderful in your most recent photos!

Interesting interesting. Careful is the word that comes to mind. You have become more careful: same style, but sharper.

I was looking at my old pics. I don’t see it normally - I have all these thoughts in my head and so rarely perceive the visual result, no matter how much I look - but yes, Angie is right: my style is Quirky Waif. That is what it looks like and that does not change. I do Sporty Luxe, Jetta Driving Lululemon Yupster, Chucks-Wearing IT girl, etc., in my head, but it totally comes out Quirky Waif. Year after Year!

The pewter footwear is such a standout on you. Perfect with your hair. It’s amazing how a few tweaks have given you a sleeker, more updated silhouette.

Synne, thank you. The jacket in 1 was very high quality - Pendleton. It just didn’t fit me properly. It’s long gone, unfortunately.

I think my favorites are #3, #5, and #7. #3 is elegant for dressy occasions, #5 is very casual and I love the jacket and pants, and #7 is a go anywhere outfit that you probably wear a lot.
