WIW, the list, and moving forward

Well the list was a complete failure. I think I do better with a budget than an item limit. I'm having a lot of luck with Ebay and the consignment shop as far as finding good stuff. I'm thinking that a splurge once a season is a good idea for me. My taste is really starting to get pricey, and maybe a little of the good stuff will go a long way. My splurge for winter was the leather coat.

wiw, tank- Helmut Lang via Ebay, cardi- Scandal coll by The Limited, pants- Diesel Jogg BF, shoes Sketchers S3 hidden wedge.

Picture 2 is a close up of the cardi. I wonder how Deborah manages to photograph black clothes in a way that shows the details so well.

Love your drapings(and Deborah's), too Shedev! It's a great outfit, love the contrast tank under that quirky cardi! I hear you about pricey tastes comming over surprising our budgets...hope you'll see your leather coat, too!:-)

Interesting about the item limit. I need to do an item limit, but I'm much better with a budget. More freedom, ya know?

That sweater is great.

I've actually gone the other way: Pricier stuff has started to leave a bad taste for me. There's a certain egalitarianism in fashion these days, in the design of clothes, and I don't know if a $200 t-shirt has... meaning.

Great look, Shedev. It's work and luck but quality pieces can be found on consignment and Ebay. LOL, Rachylou. I hear you on $200 for a tee but I'd pay it for great fitting jeans or shoes if I needed to.

This is a great look on you. The drape is lovely. I hear you on the seasonal splurge - I have found that as I spend a bit more to get clothes I really love, I have not felt like I needed as many. Why did the list not work for you? I have a list that (so far) I have stuck to fairly well, but I am curious about whether it may not work as the season progresses.

Thanks Lynn, I did get the leather in Jan. It did see a good amount of wear.

I hear ya Rachy, I'm all for a good looking knock off, but sometimes there is a detail to the higher end piece that I can't find at the lower price point. My wardrobe is far from high end though.
