Today is one of those confusing spring days where the temperature was in the low 40s when I got up and will get to the upper 70s before the day is out. I’m wearing my new striped skirt with bare legs for the first time this year, but am layering up!

Come evening, I’ll probably re-don layers in reverse order.

Also, a bonus pic, because my son gave me permission to share. The day after prom, he wore his tux jacket (from H&M) with a graphic tee to go to a play in Denver. With Doc Martens and jeans. I totally love it.

We are going the other way - on the weekend and Monday I was wearing tee shirts or a short sleeve dress - yesterday there were dustings of snow on a nearby mountain and I was in a puffer and a beanie!!

JAileen, we also have pretty big daily swings year round, but I have a hard time when it’s going from (what I’d consider) cold to (what I’d consider) hot. That 40° to 80° gulf is the hardest for me.

Angie, kiddo would be so happy to hear your assessment. He loves 70s punk and thinks we were incredibly lucky to have been teens/young adults in the 90s.

shevia, it's only been about a year that kiddo has taken an interest AT ALL in what he wears. He used to wear basically the same outfit--track pants, a tee, and a blue puffer vest--every single day.

Dianna, I think the skirt is going to work out! It's rare that I have anything in my closet for a few weeks without wearing it, and I almost returned.

Sisi, it is nice to be in bare legs again, although it's only set to last a couple of days.

Mainelady, cowboy boots say spring to me, and I'm always excited to break them out...they've been in my wardrobe forever. I think that, like Brooklyn, I have a high tolerance for boots in warm weather.

We have similar temperature swings here and I have a hard time in the spring too. For the same reasons - 40 is COLD and 80 is pretty warm when the sun is shining and it's not windy. Today it was it in the 40's when I got to work and the high is supposed to be 81.

We have that same temperature swing today. Your outfit is perfect. I ended up wearing my EFblack wide leg crops with a Karen Kane floral ( black and blush) Sweet-Pea-esque top bare legs and blush closed toe shoes. When needed for early morning and after dark, a long black duster_type cardi was added. (Find shows dame cardi in pink. I need to make a find for the KK top). The cardi was just warm enough for car and very little walking. Tomorrow will be back to cold.

I think it was the Boulder Daily Camera that called the temperature swing "Fire and Ice". That can be taken quite literally since low snowpack means wild fires.
