WIW: Team Wear--another boucle pullover

After buying a cozy boucle pullover from Eileen Fisher last week and wearing it right away, I hit upon the idea of copying it with a piece of fabric I had been puzzling over how to make up. I knew I wanted a pullover, but wasn't sure what pattern to use. I made a simple boxy long-sleeved crew-neck pullover much like the Eileen Fisher. I finished it yesterday and wore it today.

photo 1: Today's outfit (for hanging around home): Teal boucle pullover (made by me), black lantern jeans (OSKA), black triple-buckle moto booties (Blondo), Czech glass earrings with tones of blue and green, teal and blue framed eyeglasses.

photo 2: Another outfit I might wear tomorrow: the pullover again, with dark olive slouchy pants (ISCHIKO), olive suede booties (LaCanadienne).

Carla, thanks for your comment on the boxiness. Because of the weight of this fabric, the top stands away from the body a lot more than previous tops I've made from the pattern. I wasn't sure I liked it at first. Glad to know you see it working! And on the color, the WIW photos are more accurate than the Find photo taken on the dress form.

avicennia, thank you. I don't actually knit; any sweaters I make are sewn from sweater-knit fabric. Never thought I'd see the day, but it's pretty cool that you can find such fabric and that it's not impossible to sew.

Sweater knit fabric sounds fascinating. I wish I knew how to sew — learning is on my list for someday. In the meantime I get to enjoy your creations.

Oh I love this ! Quality boucle is not around much at retail which is too bad because it’s lightweight yet cozy and luxe . The whole outfit is really chic and modern - earrings and lipstick included

What a lovely silhouette on you - I suspect the boxy top works great with the lantern pants (despite it technically being 'volume on volume') because of where they both meet (around the natural waist). That's the great thing about sewing, I suppose - being able to customise your clothing to 100% perfect, instead of 'just tolerating' the slight niggles on '90% perfect' store bought clothes (let's be honest, it's usually more like '70%' lol)

That teal colour is the *exact* shade I'm on the hunt for as my 2022 colour - agree it's so difficult to find at retail! I know Seasalt Cornwall call that colour 'Dark Wreckage' for their Easel tops (below) - they even sell their fabrics on their website, but disappointingly they don't sell this specific cotton mélange

I'm very late to this post, but still wanted to comment that I really like both outfits, especially #1. I love your boots with the buckles; and how great that you could recreate the jumper! It gets me excited when I find the perfect idea for a fabric in my stash ☺️
