I bought this magenta coloured blazer on Monday when I went shopping with Dianthus (have I mentioned how enjoyable that was and what a sweetheart she is?). I love the bright cheery colour and slight masculine shape of the blazer. I’ve popped it over my VC tiered tee, black midi pencil skirt, small polka dot hose and Doc Sara oxfords. I feel like I’m kind of channeling MaryK in this ensemble! It’s quite cool here today so I figured this was a way to be warm enough while bringing a spring colour out to play.

So how does this look to your eyes? Any changes you would make? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Comment on the VC tiered tee: I love the look of this tee but it drives me crazy! The ends of the tiers tend to want to roll so throughout the day (several times) you’ll find me smoothing my hands all of the top laying back down the tiers. I don’t regret the purchase but I would not buy anything tiered with raw edges again. My Cleo black/white tiered dress is far better as the ends of each tier are finished and heavier so they lay completely flat and don’t move.

Wouldn't change a thing! Great look for you, I love the stripes and the bold color of the jacket. The bag and shoes echo the graphic qualities of the top. You look stylish and oh so fab! Looks like you are channeling both Mary K and Angie a bit!

You kind of bought my jacket though :)I have seen it at Jacob but haven't pulled the trigger and probably will by the trench-coat instead.That color is amazing.

Very smart, vibrant and crisp. This blazer will be a perfect addition to your wardrobe! BTW -- do you have any bracelets or watches that you usually wear. Now remember, I love doo-dads and gee-gaws, but I can see something strong and simple on your wrist in this ensemble!

And you look TERRIFIC, Shannon! I see what you mean in terms of channeling MaryK, too. This is definitely an ALGo outfit, in the best possible way! LOVE the way the striped top, piped bag and colour-blocked Docs play off each other --- and even the blazer has a stripey lining! That colour is scrumptious on you, by the way. (Wonder if it would go with your --- hopefully now altered? --- bird-print skirt?)

Celia - didn't mean to buy your jacket (lol)! I've never bought anything from Jacob before and was quite pleased with the quality of their items. They also have this blazer in a sumptious dark blue/purple colour...just saying.

Beth Ann - I have TONS of bracelets and watches and have no idea why the heck I didn't put one on this morning! Duh!

Manidipa - I'll pass your message onto Kristin! And great minds think alike - I'm hoping this will work with my Shabby Apple skirt as well since there is a magenta colour in the vine in the pattern. It won't be ready until Monday, April 16th (my seamstress is quite backed up with graduation season around the corner). She's taking in the sides to narrow the width, shortening it by one inch and putting in a kick pleat in the back. I can hardly wait to get it back!

Wow, can you get any more fabulous! This is true Shannon style! I love everything about it--the tiered stripe top is perfect with the bright pink blazer and the Docs and black and white handbag are the perfect touch!

I became very chummy with Jacob this year, although I haven't bought that much I enjoy browsing their collection and have several items on my wish list.
I have seen the jacket you are saying but what attracts me most is the magenta color, I have been going back and forth considering if I should buy the jacket or the trench and at this point the trench is winning because I think I can get more use of it.We will see, maybe we'll be jacket twins

That's a great outfit! I'm glad you found your blazer, even though it's not green. The magenta is really pretty on you! It's great with this outfit, too!!! I know what you mean about those crazy layers. I bought a midi skirt with similar ruffles on it and they want to roll up, too. I think your top is worth the effort, though, it's fantastic!

Shannon! I usually click on Angie's blog post first, but how could I with your bright magenta blazer vying for my attention?? The color looks richer in this photo than the ones you took at home. Gorgeous! I love the entire outfit and I'm sorry you have to fuss with your top occasionally, but I think it's worth it to look this fab! Rita - oh my...I think my striped top and your striped skirt photoshopped together would be fab! But possibly cause vertigo for those who looked at it too long (lol)!

Claire - my office light definitely shows the colours more truly in my clothing. I have a huge south facing window in my office so lots of natural light - plus it's a little later in the morning so no longer dark! And yes, I guess the top is worth fussing over a bit!

Don't change a thing! Love it all - the magenta blazer is perfect for a cool spring day. I have many jackets, but only one colored blazer (orange). Now I think maybe they are a possible answer to my spring UWP topper quandry.

Beautiful! Black + white + a strong color seems to be a go-to formula for you, and I love how it allows you to get so much use out of the Saras!

My goodness, Shannon! This is just another fantastic outfit!
The details really make it, IMO: the black & white bag, the Docs, the striped lining of the jacket, the dots on your hose. All the little things add up to making an exceptional whole.

Your new jacket looks great, too. That bright magenta looks super on you.

How lucky you are to be able to rock such a a strong color as in this jacket. Every thing in this outfit is perfect but I don't agree it is AGLO - not in my eyes anyway. I think it is perfectl streamlined and purely Shannon-like!

Wow, Shannon. This outfit is completely awesome! I love how "matchy" it is, with all the graphic, black and white on your top, shoes and bag, and all the stripes! I know that word has kind of a bad connotation, but you make it look very hip and purposeful. Love it! I hear you on the raw edges. I especially have this problem with knit cotton jersey and raw edges.

That top is so great under the new jacket - too bad it's a pain to wear because it's a great underpinning!

Rae - I can see me quickly falling in love with a strong coloured blazer. According to your recent rubric (I read on the other thread) a coloured blazer could work with your style provided it has the strong shoulder and structure you like.

Una - I will always be a fan of black and white being the classic foundation of an outfit. It always makes me feel good.

Ana - in my life, matchy-matchy is not a dirty word!

So glad you had a great meet up with Dianthus! This is a fantastic, fun outfit. I am sorry the top is annoying. I wonder if there is a quick and easy fix. That fabric tape? But it might get a little sticky. Taking it off might pose problems. I can just hear your husband..."A sexy sticky-tape.."
