Long boring account of my week. Feel free to skip
Twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd week of the fiscal month, we do what is called in retail “open to buy”. It’s sort of a misnomer because its way for than that. At it’s simplest, it’s like reconciliation of your check book and then rebalancing your future budget. For us it includes Re forecasting sales and margins for the next 3-6 months by business area. Then I meet with my boss to review, she asks for changes, we re roll. Then we meet with our merchant counterparts, they want changes. We re roll. Then we meet with VP, she may want changes or further details. Then the “real meeting” happens l. It makes for a long week...so I’m always happy when it’s finally Friday
Anyway it’s a long way of saying I was looking for comfort and ease. Loose fitting jeans, simple sweater and then my white boots to amp it up.
