I have way too many sweater vests. I did, however, return the ecru one (#4?) because the color didn’t work with many things.

Next up will be puffer vests. Fabric vests/waistcoats will have to wait until spring when it’s warmer.

What a marvellous collection of sweater vest combos, I love my vests too, but your collection of sweater vests knocks me right out of the water, Especially like 8 and 10. Your socks/tights are so fun too.

@ Angie, Suz, avicennia, Joyce B, Jaime, Cookie, and Dee: Thank you for taking the time to look (whew!) and weigh in. I've added Finds for the sweater vests. #21 was knit by my auntie on a knitting machine probably decades ago.

@Joyce B and Jaime: The socks are Oroblu so maybe you can find them using an image search?

In doing this exercise, I found that shirts tend to look better under sweater vests, but they just aren't warm enough for me, at least in Nov/Dec! My favorite sweater vest is #7/19, the next to the last Find. My neck gets cold so its turtleneck means I can wear my many crewnecks underneath and get some wear out of them. Also, it is easy to layer on top, unlike the many with extended shoulders and big armholes. Plus it was only $35 full price!

You have an excellent collection of sweater vests and an excellent eye for adding fun pops of colors and interesting prints to liven up the outfits.

I especially like when you layer the vests with brighter colors, it's so fun while with neutrals it's a more sophisticated vibe. And you look lovely on grey. These are all great combinations, bravo!

What a source of inspiration! Myself, I really like the vests with the slightly extended shoulders, as on me they balance a big bust. You look good in every single one of these. Are the green shoes doc martens? They're very handsome.

Thank you for taking the time to click through all my (bad!) photos and then leaving a message!

@Roberta: The green shoes are by Bass, probably purchased at the Rack or at Nordstrom on deep discount. I also have green patent oxfords that see more wear. For some reason, I am drawn to green shoes. And orchid socks.

@JAileen: I would have worn the houndstooth tights in #5 and #6 with the houndstooth skirt in #22 but they were in the wash. Instead, I doubled up on my taupe tights which seem to be lighter in weight than most of my other tights. I've taken to layering tights, mostly with fishnet-y ones over solid tights for extra warmth and textural interest. I avoid control tops so it's not uncomfortable and have decided I want to get more wear out of my skirts and dresses than be self-conscious of my short stocky legs.
