Hello, fab friends!

It's been a while since I last posted a WIW, and it's something I want to do more now that I'm really finding a groove with my style as I approach age 30 (my birthday is on Sunday!). My 20s were about figuring out what works for me, and my 30s will be about having FUN with that, making fewer purchase mistakes (I hope!), and being pickier about what I choose to add to my wardrobe. If it's not perfect, it won't do, unless it's something I already have that I'm working on replacing.

It's finally starting to cool down in Atlanta (relatively speaking, anyway--highs are in the low 80s, though mornings and evenings are my ideal temperature range, around low-mid 70s which, incidentally, is warmer than my ideal range used to be before I lost 40 pounds over the last couple of years), so I'm enjoying some of my early fall faves. I've been admiring my two sweater vests I bought in the spring ALL SUMMER waiting for the chance to wear them again, and that time has arrived.

I decided to go for a 90s color palette with my black jeans and sneakers, black and white houndstooth vest (the other one is lilac and white), and light blue denim shirt (with short sleeves for temperature flexibility). My hair is a bit longer than shoulder length now (if I gently pull on a strand so it's straight rather than wavy, it goes a bit past my collar bone!) and back to my natural dark brown (so dark most people read it as black), and I've been enjoying using claw hair clips to pull it back for a bit more polished look than a ponytail. I'll definitely do this again with my other vest, and see how I like the look with matching denim on the top and bottom. But I LOVE black, white, and light blue. No handbag right now because I was just heading to the pharmacy to pick up my medications and just stuck my wallet and phone in my pockets, but I've been enjoying the brown crossbody bag I got earlier this year, and the crocheted bucket bag I picked up during my travels in Ecuador this summer. I'd like to get a couple more for variety, but I'm easing into expanding my bag capsule because I've never been a "bag person" and used to make soooo many purchasing mistakes with them because I didn't know what I wanted. But now I do-lightweight, easy, something I can fling over my shoulder and get going.

I also want more sweater vests in colors/patterns besides houndstooth. I'd like to get at least one solid one this fall, I think, or maybe two so I can get a neutral and a bright color.
