Another of my weekend purchases - as you can see I am firmly Team Wear!

I know some people have an aversion to maxi skirts and dresses. I, however, love them. Not sure if they love me though?

So here I am in this black and white maxi skirt in a ponte knit. I have accessorised simply with my big black and white earrings. I also have on a silver pendant and my watch and wedding ring. I decided the day called for ballet flats.

Any thoughts?

It's a sleek siloutte on you and I like it. You also styled it great with that top. I can tell about other maxis when I don't like, but if suits your lifestyle and environment, this totally works!

I also love maxi skirts. I think they look very chic and can easily be dressed up or down. Your skirt is very pretty, creates a long and lean silhouette, and looks fab with your flats!

I'm not generally a maxi lover, unless you're on vacation somewhere, but I think you've really done this look justice! The slimmer silhouette is flattering on you and you seem completely at home in it -- which is a real key component of fab style. Wear and wear again, Hil! You're making some great choices!

I like the skirt - the pattern, colour and fit are very nice. It is a slim fit and so doesn't overwhelm you. I also think it fits your style sense.

I like the skirt on you, and I feel like it meshes well with your style. Like Liz, I htink this might look really good with a peplum top, but not if it's not "you"!

And I LOVE ponte knit! One of the greatest fabrics ever.

I like it a lot too. I may be crazy but I think I'd prefer it with a slightly shorter top (or longer, like a tunic length, but then you'd need to be careful to define the waist). Definitely a great everyday interesting outfit.

I like maxi dresses and skirts and think this one looks great on you. I think one of the reason you don't look swamped in fabric is the slim cut of both the skirt and top. I also love your silver earrings!

OK I am not sure about this. I think you look good of course but not so much digging the column of skirt to the floor. What are some of the things that resonate for you with this outfit and with maxi skirts? I can see how the streamlined look works and that shorter skirts aren't warm and so on. You do look vibrant in your outfits so that's part of the secret.

Laura - I really like the idea of a tunic. Whilst I could see how something shorter may work... on my body - not so much!

Unfrumped - I think what I like about maxi length is that I feel a little different and avant-garde in skirts and dresses of this length. There is an element of arty that appeals to me. And that they are warm and comfortable...
