WIW: Sunday plus kids knee patches DIY

I just wanted to share a kids clothing DIY. My boy is ripping jeans like crazy. Had to save his favorite Levis skinnys.Here is my Sunday best. The outfit felt forced and my closet threw up all over my bed. Been trying to make this belt work but it may end up an orphan. Same with the skirt. Suggestions needed.

Love the patches! And I need to send my kid over to yours for some instruction. She has a massive rip in her jeans!!

So, what about your outfit felt forced, do you think? I always find it helpful to identify (if I can) what's making me uncomfortable. And sometimes (sadly) purging really is the only solution when something doesn't feel right.

The belt might be a bit heavy with these light coloured and lightweight pieces, what do you think? I can see it with jeans, though.

You are so clever! My daughter thought she was a cat when she was younger and went everywhere on her hands and knees. We went through jeans like crazy. Not only did she think she was a cat, she also convinced all her little friends to be cats. Needless to say, the other moms were not fans of the "cat game." I wish I knew about your nifty knee patches way back then. (The little kitty is now 28, btw!)

Your outfit looks fresh and summery! I like Suz's idea of a lighter belt. I think it would look fab with a denim jacket, too. Thanks for sharing!

My son loves how his pants turned out. I like how the patch on the one is behind the denim. Recessed. I guess my first problem was what color would go best with the skirt. Cream or white. I tried on many variations. I have a pair of cream shoes with black trim and tried a black belt etc..... Nothing quite worked. I guess the fun thing about clothing is you can always try something else next time.
