WIW: Summer version of blog post today.

I loved the proportions on Angie's post and thought I could try and recreate this within my wardrobe. It is late spring here now.

Wearing denim flares (Jeans West - new this season but on sale), a very old MaxShop tee (I think 2011), sandals (Witchery last summer) and my Aviators which are on their last legs.

Styled with a clutch but will use a cross body in reality.

This tee is not well worn but it has survived several purges. I do like the welt on it and love the mix of red and pink stripes. It owes me nothing and gets worn two or three times a season as a mix up.

I am liking wearing the flares - and will wear them regularly now the rain has stopped. Perfect for this time of year before it gets too hot in mid-summer.

Great summer version of the block post! I really like the stripes on your tee. The white shoes are a nice contrast with the jeans.

Thanks Sara - first time I have worn the jeans with sandals and I am pleased these ones work. As I look again at the top I wonder if it is too bunched - it is very long if I pull it down fully but I think this is the flattering length on my shape?

I am battling away on an article about a work project for an industry magazine.....

In my mind I look a bit Charlie Girl (I love that 70s look) but in reality that is a bit of a stretch I know...

I like this summer version a lot ! This works perfectly for your style, and smiling with the Charlie Girl reference;)

I now am obsessed with finding a sweater or top with deep ribbing - so flattering and easy.

I think the top is a bit bunchy though, yes, but not a big deal.

Smittie - these are such great wedge sandals - they seem to work with pretty much every look. The top is a bit bunchy....I will see what else I have at that length.
Lisa- thanks - I remember adoring those US advertisements in the 70s (Charlie Girl, Virginia Slims, Coca Cola) and I loved Mary Tyler Moore and Charlies Angels.... I loved that confident woman off to work and then off for a date look....

Looking very glam! I love a 70's inspired look.

I wouldn't worry too much about the bunching of the top. I have a few tops that do that. I also think things can look different in a static pose from how they look and feel with movement.

What a beautiful tee! Very 70s. I like the whole outfit. I like the detail of the white sandals and the red polish that recall the tee. I think that a cross-body bag is the right bag for this sporty outfit.

Stylefan, Lyn, Angie - yes Charlie Girl was my first perfume as a teenager. I wonder if it is still available? Ads were so pervasive in the 70s weren't they?

Oh Sal I was typing this morning and lost my post so stopped to get ready for work. But Charlie was my first perfume too! Older than you... I was 17, in 1978. Yes those ads were persuasive and I reckon could partly be why my brain wants me to be a willowy 70s blonde with Farrah Fawcett hair! I bought Charlie again a couple of times in my early 40s for nostalgia reasons.
I love your 70s-inspired outfit here: the bright stripes, the flares, white sandals and red nail polish. So fun, YLF!

Next time I am in a pharmacy I am going to look at the perfume section - I can vividly remember the smells of my 1980s perfumes ( Charlie, Anais Anais, Opium (this was not for me), Diorissimo and my favourite - Lumiere by Rochas.
