WIW summer denim & blue - YouLookFab Forum

Warm day, and just worked a shift at the radio station and had to pop in for a few little tasks in my studio before coming home to greet my husband, who is almost home after the long drive from TX! It's been 2 months since he was home so we're both very happy!

He likes it when I wear skirts so I thought I'd try this today. Not sure if this Kut denim skirt should be more tapered or what. Good length, but does it look a little wide? What do you think? Skirts are so hard for me.:-/

I really like this top -- picked it up at Marshall's recently. Just an inexpensive draped front
sleeveless top, but I like the cut for summer and I love the color. Turns out it matches my lapis ring from Chile.

Added the Matt Bernson sandals and the rose gold watch for a slight touch of bookending.

Simple, but I hope it works. Tell me if you think the skirt is working or whether I should alter it, or just give up on denim skirts...

that skirt works for me Janet - I think the denim vibe works with a bit less taper to it!! and how did you get the ring to match the top!! -

Oh wow that shirt really is the perfect match to your ring, down to the texture! Also, COOL RING. I would prefer to see the skirt a bit more tapered myself, but then it'll get a bit more bombshelly (though if it's only tapered a little it won't be by much). That or a bit shorter so you have less of a large rectangular block effect, if that makes sense. How sweet of you to wear a skirt to meet hubby

I find denim skirts hard to wear. I would try shortening the skirt and see how that looks. You have nice legs so why not?

Wow! That blue top is divine on you. So pretty. IKWYM about the denim skirts--that's why I gave up on mine. I think yours is pretty flattering but could do with a bit more taper at the knee. I don't think shortening is going to help.

I think the skirt looks fine as is, but might look more current a little shorter (no taper) or keep it at this length (with taper). Your ring is gorgeous, and matches your shirt perfectly!

Lovely! As for the skirt, I think it looks OK but might look better with a bit more taper.

I don't think you should alter the skirt at all. Pic#1 is a bad angle and Pic #2 the skirt looks perfectly lovely. I love the blouse though usually I am not a color on color fan unless it's black or white. I also love how nicely the lapis ring echos the blouse. I love the tension between the varied blue in the blouse and more uniform blue in the skirt. You mentioned nothing about the shoes unless I was reading too fast but I think they're wonderful as always. (I openly covet your shoe collection ;-))

One more vote for the denim skirt..You look amazing in the blue..goes with your eyes and sets off your skin...I hope you enjoy having your husband home...Great blue ring to go with your blue outfit...smiles...
