It's been a while since I've posted outfits, so here's what I've been wearing to work in the last week. Apparently, the theme is deep berry shades. Blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, mmmm. With a little cream and the inevitable black. And now I'm craving pie.
Was visiting my husband's family the other week, and ended up in Kohl's, which is never on my radar because there's none particularly convenient to me. The Vera Wang stuff looked especially nice, and kind of up my alley. For example, this flowered top, which came home with me.
Standard dress and cardigan outfit. The only thing of note was that, after looking at these shoes (the VC wedges in my Finds) to potentially wear to a wedding I'm going to soon and deciding they were too casual, I started wondering why I don't just wear them on non-dress-up occasions. After I did for a day, I realized there was a good reason I don't. Namely, that they're not that comfortable and not quite cute enough to justify discomfort. So they're now in the donate pile.
Another standard dress and cardigan, this time with dark purple flats.
New top and black flats from NAS that I really like. It's especially nice to have a woven top that feels as effortless as a knit. The picture doesn't look great, but I think the outfit was cuter and more flattering in real life.
Believe it or not, this was my attempt at a sheer sweater over a contrasting tank. The navy sweater does have a slightly meshy weave up close, and the tank is kind of rhubarb-colored (another good pie ingredient!), a little lighter than the skirt. I'm really starting to like wearing navy with deep purples. It's rich and interesting and manages to completely avoid preppiness, which is always hard with navy.
