On a whim, I decided to try pairing this embroidered navy and white tank with my cropped striped Teddie pants. I find pairing tops with these trousers a bit tricky - the tops need to be short/fitted enough to offset the wide cropped legs but also need to be fluid enough that they don't overly emphasize my hips (because the trousers do that enough on their own!) I was really pleased with this combo even though I wasn't sure it would work until I put it on.
It's also cool enough to wear a topper today so I popped my knit turquoise blazer over the top and echoed the teal/turquoise tones with my dark teal patent oxfords.
Plus some random outfits from last week that I never posted.
#4: knife pleated skirt with a plain black tee and ankle strap sandals. I used to wear pretty skirts with plain fitted black tees a lot and have gotten away from it recently, but I might start again. (Need to replenish my black tee capsule though. This one is getting a bit old.) I like the simplicity.
#5: Very, very loosely inspired by the genie pants ensemble from last week. These knickerbockers are kind of like genie pants lite. I like them best with a top with a little bit of structure like this woven pink plaid blouse.
#6: A couple of older items I haven't worn much this summer (not sure why, I still like both a lot). The sleeveless top is handknit and the skirt is an old favorite from Anthropologie.
