WIW: straight hair and straight legs

Here's what I wore to the hairdresser and to go shopping:
Straightleg jeans (Paige Skyline)
Gray-green long-sleeve tee in cotton cashmere (Majestic)
Shoulder cozy in blues, greens, and gold (handknit by a friend!)
Brown jeans belt (B-Low the Belt)
Metallic brown booties (Donald Pliner)
Mixed brass and silver earrings (Marjorie Baer) and bracelets (Lucky)

On the hairdresser visit, I had bangs cut! And he styled my hair straight, just for something different. I can see in these photos it's not a huge difference, but when I look in the mirror, I feel like I'm looking at someone else! It's been SO long since I blew my hair out straight or had bangs. I'm thinking I may go back to curly/wavy tomorrow, but I may try to wear it straight sometimes. It will take some learning, plus some new products and maybe tools. I was kind of hoping for more of a gee-whiz moment with the haircut, but as far as flattery goes, it seems about the same as what I've been wearing. What do you think?

Great jeans and outfit! I prefer the curls, but you know I am quite biased toward them. You look terrific!

Thank you, Debora. Do you have the same jeans? My specs are Michael Kors, and they have green edges behind the dark tortoise fronts, a detail that I really like.

I have the Paige Skyline Skinny, but I would love to get a pair in a straight leg. Your specs are very similar to mine, although mine are all tortoise with a hint of a cat eye. The green accent on yours sounds very cool.

Alaskagirl, my stylist blew it dry and then used a flat iron. I do not have a flat iron, so my first attempts to style it straight (or straighter than usual) will be with a round brush. He used a different anti-frizz styling product (one for straight styling rather than curly styling), too, and I don't think I have anything like that. Anyway, my curly style takes about 5 min. of blow-drying. The straight style, as he did it, would be 5 min. blow-dry, plus however long it takes me to learn to use a flat iron! Haha.

You look beautiful! As someone who has straight hair, I love curly hair, but I also love the way curly hair looks ironed straight. It still has a fullness that is hard to get when you have straight, fine hair like mine.

I also really like the Majestic with the shoulder warmer. It occurred to me that with its cropped length, you could style this in an ultra-modern way with a high-waisted midi skirt or high-waisted pants. (If you dare you can expose your midriff!)

I love your hair and I do see it as a change. I like the curls, too, but I think at this length with the bangs it brings attention to your eyes and cheekbones in a very good way and is enlivening. So it is the new length and bangs that make it, not whether or not it is curly.

Those jeans are just fantastic on you. You're making me want a pair. Did you find them TTS?

I like the hair! I think the shape is refined and the bangs and layers frame your face nicely. My stylist always blows min straight and flat irons, too. She does this, and then takes out a lot of weight by texturizing and point-cutting the ends. Straight hair shows the lines of the cut better.

I do love your curls! But the option to wear it straight for a change-up is fabulous! I also love you in grey and appreciate the way you understand the importance of textures in an outfit. I always try to dress like my most modern, authentic self to a hair appointment. I have this feeling that I'm more likely to get a cuts that suits me by doing this!

I like the hair. It changes things a bit. Also love the way the low rise looks on you. You should really wear this rise more often ( if you don't already do). It really does hit the sweet spot on your body!

Shoulder cozy, what a neat piece. I like the texture it brings to the outfit. The hair looks fab. I am always jealous of those with fab hair styling skills. I can barely do a blowout by myself, forget curls one day and straight the next. I had a coworker that was a wiz at hair and could do any style.

And Suz, yes these ran true to size, but I've had them at least a year. So I don't know how the Skyline cut would run now. When Angie posted the jeans question recently, I didn't respond but read with interest. I've been finding some brands seem to run small, but I also feel I've put on some weight and at the same time want my pants to fit less tight. So who knows.

Update on the new hairstyle: today I wore it a little wavy but not full-on (i.e., not diffuser-dried) waves. It flipped out a little bit at the sides, for a softer look. I guess it really is a change, because I am moved to experiment with how I style it. For straight, though, I think a really need a flat iron. Round brush is not the answer! Ha!

You are so ridiculously fashionable! I love it. The outfit is so boho polished, rustic, edgy and cozy. I prefer it curly as a curly girl myself but this is a very nice change of pace.
