WIW: Stompy yellow with black, cream and cognac

Here's what I wore today to a casual goodbye lunch for a colleague.

The black ponte pants are old, and although a bit loose, not terrible for now. Cream sweater is new this year. Some of you remember the yellow Docs. They are a pre-pandemic purchase that hasn't gotten a lot of wear. They are a bit too big but I'm trying to see if they will work with extra socks for warmer winter days.

Threw my black puffer over top and added a scarf with a mix of leopard print, mustard, cognac and charcoal. I wore cognac gloves to pick up on the colours in the scarf. (does this count for Katerina's outerwear challenge?!)

What a great outfit! I remember the stompy yellow boots from a while ago; glad they are still in use! Love the scarf; it picks up those yellow tones. You are really looking sensational!

Great boots! I often size upwards with winter boots, to make room for a woolly sock. They seem to wear better like that.

Thanks, Suz. I'm definitely feeling better and having more fun with even the limited amount of 'getting dressed" I need to do.

Thanks, Zaeobi (holding tightly to scarf.) This little strip of fabric has a big job to play in helping me get use from these boots.

Brooklyn -- yes, the pants do fit more like a jogger now -- and I'm enjoying the relaxed fit. The only problem is that I keep expecting there to be a front pocket!

Thanks, Irina - I'm always a bit wary of the bumblebee effect, but I hoped that adding cream and cognac would temper it enough -- and I think it did the job for my purposes.

Thanks for the boot love Synne, Approprio, Tanya and Angie. These boots were an impulse buy and probably a mistake in many ways, but they are fun and I'm determined to try to find a way to get some wear before giving up altogether. I don't have much to play with these days, so I have to have fun with what I have until I'm ready to add more.

I approve of this message. Seriously, this outfit is so much fun, and so perfect! I love how the scarf bookends the boots, and the charcoal jacket really brings the color of the boots to life!

Thanks, Mary Beth! Refined footwear isn't on the best of terms with my feet, so I'm experimenting with ways to make the less sexy footwear a bit more appealing.

You're so right, Bijou -- the boots are fun, and fun footwear is hard to come by for my fussy feet. I'll take a bit of whimsy where I can get it. Not quite on par with your amazing boots, but they still add a nice bit of zest to an otherwise ordinary outfit! (lemon zest?)
