Call me crazy, but I'm sick of wearing pants, and I've been eager to wear some of my winter dresses lately in spite of the fact that it's outrageously cold here right now.

Plus I've got a trip coming up in a couple of weeks (Paris!) and I'm trying to find ways to wear dresses there while still keeping warm walking everywhere.

My answer: Layers, and fleece lined tights! I think it works pretty well. I wasn't cold at all in either of these outfits. I know the thick tights don't look as elegant as thinner opaque hose, but we have to make compromises sometimes, don't we? Does this work, and look OK?
Has anybody else been wearing dresses in frigid weather?
Questions, comments, suggestions for improvement are welcome!

1- Out to dinner with friends:
Nicole Miller sweater dress- It's pretty warm on its own, but even more so with my Theory ponte blazer over it. I should have taken a picture of the sleeves- they have zippers on the back of the leather part. I love it!
Foley & Corinna teal pony hair bag. I got this mostly for travel because I feel more secure with a cross-body or shoulder bag when out walking in the city, riding the metro, etc. in the evening instead of a clutch.
Hue fleece lined sweater tights.
LK Bennett booties

2, 3- Running errands and lunch out:
COS sweater dress. I wore a scoop-necked layering tee under it, which didn't show, but added to the warmth factor.

Hue fleece-lined tights

Zara tribal necklace

Stuart Weitzman boots
Burberry coat
Rebecca Minkoff bag

4- Close-up of the Stuart Weitzman boots- (picture taken a different day with ponte pants). These are my new go-to boots! I love them! They have good tread for snowy days, and are so easy to throw on and go. I like that they're sort of a moto boot but more refined.
