WIW: stay-at-home swing style

One of my favorite new sewing patterns is a swing tee with raglan sleeves (Closet Case, Ebony). I've made two of them since I got the pattern in March. Today's stay-at-home outfit features a short-sleeve, summery one.

The outfit: landscape print swing tee (made by me); dark boyfriend jeans (AG, Ex-boyfriend Slim); bright coral cardigan (Halogen); white leather high-top sneakers (Paul Green, Bronte); blue and white stripe knit cowl-mask (made by me).

I like these sneakers so much, I broke down and ordered them in tan, too.

Your outfit is wonderful--and the swing tee and blouse combo is dynamite!! I adore swing tees, especially with a culotte or harem cut pant.

Tee... I had no idea it was a Closet Case pattern! I haven't yet started sewing. But of the pattern companies I've been watching a lot, Closet Case, so far, is my favorite both in fit and styles. Super neat to see a pattern of theirs IRL.

There is a really wonderful image I pinned and now it's just disappeared. But it was a swing blouse paired with harem pants, heels, and a hair scarf. It was absolutely fabulous! I was going to post it here to share with you. Anyway... I love harem pants. I'll have to try finding pair and wearing with a swing tee this summer maybe Thanks for the inspo!

Love that t - the fabric is amazing. I have big plans for sewing more, but sadly, not much stash and I am over-analyzing mask patterns and fitting adjustments on the one patten I recently made. You have inspired me.

Any good on line fabric store recommendations? I'm thinking of attempting a button down shirt in a Liberty lawn -ambitious, as I haven't done a ton of garment sewing recently. Iw ill definately make a muslin. But I'm so tired of not finding exactly what I want in my size and fabric choices. Yet on line fabric shopping is so risky.

Love them. envy your sewing talent. Only thing I did sewing wise was quilting. Still have quilts and useless quilting fabric. Gave a lot for mask making though.

I'm continually in awe of your sewing and styling talents. Great top, and you've made it modern and interesting by styling it with jeans and high tops. Pretty colour choice for the cardigan too. I have to admit checking out those sneakers after your first post featuring them , but in Cdn $, they are off the charts. Dodged a bullet there

Karen, this fabric was from Style Maker fabrics. I also bought the pattern from them, and I copied a sample they showed at the Sew Expo. I also like Marcy Tilton. the Sewing Workshop, and Emmaonesock for online fabrics.

Angie, thank you. Yes, this is my go-to outfit formula! Too bad the sneakers didn't work for you. I like that they are so soft inside, you don't need socks. (A good thing, because NONE of my no-show socks work with these, for some reason!)

slim cat, thank you. I thought I didn't have a topper that would really work with this tee and jeans, but this one surprised me.

Lisa, that's so nice of you--thank you. I was lured in by Nordstrom's sale on the second pair of sneakers. I got this pair at full price a while back, entirely with Nordstrom notes, embarrassingly enough!

The top is fantastic and I would not have thought it would work so well with a cardigan but it does. At least on you! You look fab!

I’m so jealous you get to go to Sew Expo. I’ve been lusting for a good garment fitting/ sewing workshop or even class that is within driving distance so I can brush up on the skills and figure out some tricky fit issues. I just can’t wrap my head around why a swayback adjustment works from a video. And am just figuring out that sewing cup size is different from bra cup size!
