I haven’t had time to post in a while and thought that I’d throw “everything” in one post while I have the chance. I’d like your opinions on how these outfit colors look on me. I’m trying to get away from too much black...

1-3 Saturated watercolor brights button-down shirt (NY&Co) which I don’t dare wear without a topper because I feel too bright. Cobalt V-neck (ZARA) covering the color party underneath is still bright but somehow, in a solid, I feel better. Close-up of D. Jeans “Ankle Biter” skinnies. I wish all my skinnies had this wide permanent cuff and fit this snug around the ankle. Sling-backs, Everybody “Lono”.

4- For reference, my sort of uniform: black demi-boot slacks (Express Columnist), 3/4 sleeve sweater (Express), old hoodie sweater and pointy kitten heels (old). I dressed like this most of the winter when I was too cold to play with more interesting proportions. I can still wear this combo due to AC in the office.

5- Another sort of uniform: V-neck (ZARA), Old Navy Rockstar skinnies, Pikolinos booties. The rise looks a tad high to my eye, like it changes my overall proportions. I neglected to adjust the buckle to the center before photo. And of course my eyes go to my thighs first... what is it with thighs and some pants???

6- Here I’m trying a new-to-me silhouette: a drapey top that does not swallow me (I admire Deborah’s style and this reminds me of it). Color is new to me also: a pearl gray in a T-shirt weight knit from Old Navy (I also got it in black), worn with the skinnies I keep reaching for over and over, from Forever 21, and leather peep-toe pumps from my favorite Mexican brand, Flexi. Is this gray too blah on me?

7-8 Here is my “wild card.” I bought these two pieces from LOFT recently: roll-neck sweater and linen/cotton safari roll pants. I had sworn off browns and most pinks. These however, attracted me and I’m a bit surprised that I really like them with my skin color... what do you think? they are both muted and rosy, my skin is olive toned. Worn with DV Miller studded Oxfords. The last shot is my recreation of the “LOFT roll.” In the store, these pants were rolled up twice, then only half of the cuff was rolled up again (on the outside of the leg) creating a sort of cool pleat. I like the messy effect but next time I’ll either give them one extra roll or do a pin roll to make them narrower so they stay up better. The whole wrinkly linen thing is also new to me. I bought two more linen slacks to test the waters and see if I can embrace the rumpled look.

The haircut is the same in all photos, all from this past week, but it looks so different in each photo - what a difference hair styling makes! Oh, I just bought a little note pad with a cute pink pig wearing fancy pink glasses that says “You are never fully dressed until you wear a smile” – Love it! Thanks for reading and I appreciate your comments.
