WIW: Spring casual and silver Birks 2 ways

It hit 70 today but felt far warmer in the sun. I wore outfit 1 for two of my kiddo's basketball games, changed into sneakers for a long walk with the dog, then changed again into outfit 2 for a casual outdoor birthday party for a friend. I added a silver necklace and cuff to the second outfit but didn't have time for another photo.

Feedback welcome, especially on Birks and skirt look. And look! I'm wearing white. I feel much better wearing it now that I am tan.

Outfit 1: James Perse tee (consignment), Tencel walking shorts (thrifted), Birkenstocks

Outfit 2: White tee (consignment), Alexander Wang twisted skirt

70!! - so jealous....... the silver birks are so cool!! and nothing beats a white t with a tan - you look casual comfy and cool!! I really like those shorts - the length makes them look like a skirt!!

I love that Alexander Wang skirt! It looks great and totally suits your style, as far as I've seen it. (Since I'm fairly new here.) The whole outfit looks cool and casual.

70? 70! Since when is it warmer in Alaska than in New York?! We're hanging out in the 50's down here. Sunshine, tans, and 70 seems so very far away…

Now that my jealous rant is over, on to the outfits. I love those walking shorts, in fact, I've looked at that photo 3 or 4 times - the length is perfect; not too long, not too short. As for outfit #2, well, I don't think I've ever seen I've seen you wear a white shirt - and you look fantastic in it, especially with your tan! That AW twisted skirt is a beauty too. This look could easily be dressed up or down, and I like how you've made it casually fab with the birks.

What everyone else said, plus I'll add that I really like your hair up like that in pic 2. I think that's the first time I've seen you wear it that way. Have you ever considered a short haircut?

Yay! So glad these work. I particularly loved the shorts which I'd forgotten I had.

The white tee is a brand called "left of center" - it's a swingy cut and has front pockets. I should have photographed the back, which is why I bought it: it has cut-outs on the back shoulders to look like a racerback. I still feel weird in white - kind of sallow and pristine - but the tan helps offset that feeling, as do your kind words!

The silver Birks are going to be a summer workhorse, I hope.

Shiny, thank you! I'm growing my hair and it's finally reached a pull-back length. I've had my hair short and it's not a good look. I would love a choppy pixie but I don't have the features for it. I think someone mentioned on another thread that a pulled back look does not necessarily indicate one would look good in short hair, and I am the perfect example of that.

And yes, we are having a crazy warm streak. It's already 60 on my deck at 9 am and both pets are lounging in the sun out there. Will share pics - it's too cute! Probably going to go for a hike today. Hoping summer doesn't burn out too soon!

Have the straps on the silver birks stretched at all? I have them, but they are slightly tight over the former bunion area on my surgery foot.

Enjoy your summer weather. Raining and 50 here in Seattle (after 80 degrees last week). Sigh.

You're looking great in both outfits. Love the red/orange tone and you definitely look good in white. I find the proportions in 2 really pleasing to look at. Love the silver Birkies btw.

Marmee, they have stretched a wee bit but I already had them on a loose setting. I have a wide high volume high arch foot, and I can't stand anything pressing on the top of my foot. Do you have yours on the biggest setting?

There is the skirt! Looks fab with the oversize tee. And white, I'm also pleasantly surprised.
Silver Birk's are way too cool! Wish mine were silver.
Would you ever tuck into this skirt, or is it a definite untuck situation? (thinking on how to wear my version)

I would semi tuck, Mo, but it's a little clingy/bunchy to tuck all the way. However, it's quite forgiving and flattering enough that I might consider a cropped top with it if I found the right one. It has a long waist and the elastic allows it to be adjusted up and down.

Fabulous! The birks look fabulous! I ordered a pair today (footbed sandals, in any case). I hope I look cool like you and not like I'm gonna break out into the Noodle (the hippie dance, that is).

My friends who hated these Birks in the store have since conceded that they are "very me". Well, maybe that's not a compliment. But I love them. And I've gotten a couple of "whoa, are those BIRKENSTOCKS?" from other women, hopefully admiring! And DH is happy that I am wearing his birthday gift.

I love both outfits -- orange is killer on you, and white is fresh and clean. I used to be quite sallow, but I'm noticing that less as I get older. Perhaps we need to change our view of our "colors" over time?

I have a pair of silver "birkesque" sandals and I love the pop of metallic against my skin. Yours, with the white sole, are incredibly modern and work so well with the architectural drape of the skirt.
