WIW: Sour, studs, snake and why I hate skirts

I switched out four skirts before settling on this one to work with this relatively simple jacket. Two skirts went into the consign pile as a result! Skirts just seem to have too many variables - length, fit, shape, waist - I know that's why some people love them but they just confuse and frustrate me. I can't even tell if THIS works.

I love it!. The jacket color is so bright, it really livens up the outfit. The skirt length and fit are both perfect. I give this one a 10!

You are preaching to the choir about skirts, at least with me, but this looks fantastic! The jacket seems to be the perfect pairing with the skirt and with the tights and boots, you look like a pro (skirt styling pro, that is)!

You look fantastic, Una! I would never have guessed that you struggled with this or second-guessed it. It looks perfect! Getting rid of skirts? Naaaah. You legs are too gorgeous. You need to show them off.

Maybe finding a favorite skirt type and consider it a staple would change your mind? For example, I wear pencil skirts really well. I wear skirts a lot when pencil skirts are trending. When they aren't? Like when A-lines or long, full skirts are the thing? Or those 3/4 length full, '50s style skirts? I wear a lot more trousers.

This is gorgeous! If I looked this good in my skirt combo I would be over the moon and on the hunt for more skirts. But I understand about outfit frustration, especially when you're trying to get out in the morning. But, seriously, this looks fab.

This 'old' skirt is right on trend, especially with your jacket! I find skirts more comfortable than shorts these days. Who woulda thunk? I think you do have to find the right shape and fit. Pencils drive me batty but I could live in my Old Navy cargo skirt.

I think this works fabulously! Man I love that jacket on you. The lemony yellow looks great with the snake print. I hear you on skirts; I don't wear them often yet I have quite a few, and often get annoyed with trying to get proportions to work correctly. But I also feel they are often worth the struggle once I get the outfit right. Do you wear winter shorts much? I feel like you'd get a lot more use (and less struggle) with those.

Sylvie, I DID get this jacket in the bright coral! And Rae, I'm with Mary: you totally looked amazing in this jacket! I think having bought both the Gibson+silk pants were filling your thoughts at the time, though

You look great. But I hear you on skirts. I have some really awesome skirts (see yesterday's volcano skirt) but I just don't wear them. If I'm feeling girly I'll put on a dress.

Sooo, I went back out to go to the post office... and came home with this jacket, plus MaryK's ombre skinnies, and some super comfy magenta suede wedges to replace my accursed Naturalizers as "work pumps." Yay for having a reliable income again!

HAHAHA! I was just going to suggest you go back and get it, you silly girl. You looked great in it. Just check the collar stitching - I had to sort through before I found one with a straight flat seam along the edge.

Sorry about the trouble for you having to return my Hudson pants too.

I think you look fantastic. I am wary of skirts too, but perusing style blogs has taught me that many women ( including you) look gorgeous in them. I am trying to integrate them into my wardrobe.

You look fantastic. This is a great outfit. Skirts that look exactly like yours are to be found all over our stores at the moment. I hear you on skirts. My struggle is I put on a skirt and then find I either have the right top or the right jacket but rarely the right top and jacket... I have promised myself not to buy any more skirts for the forseeable future..lol

The citron jacket is gorgeous. Such a wonderful way to lift the blacks and grey.
