WIW: soft blouse and dressy shorts

Hi all
Let me know if I went over the top with gold accessories and the minty purse. Just felt cool and classy to me.,
Vince top: thought it was silk til I read the tag, it is that soft and drapey
J Crew shorts. I have never worn dressy shorts before...should I wear these to work later? Spending the morning taking son to appointment out of town.

You look great! I love the gold accents. I have gold boat shoes that I wear all the time in the fall (it's too hot in the summer for closed toe shoes) because they seem to go with everything.

You are the personification of cool and classy. The soft colours and gold are absolutely beautiful with your colouring. I'm not sure about the shorts for work, though not knowing how dressy your workplace is it is hard to say; they are dressy, but in a soft, luxurious and leisurely sort of way.

Well, I never made it in to work after all, got held up at son's appointment but I felt cool and comfortable and did not spill anything on my shorts all day. Score!(They are labelled dry clean only - wool)
I think I would pass on wearing these shorts to work in the end, though, it was the sit test - they just ride up a tad too high.

When I wear "city shorts", dressy shorts, too, I suppose, I throw a blazer over and there is a dressy outfit...I love the soft pastels topped with the gold shoes and jewelry...The Jessica Simpson bag is TDF...Great choice...I would like to see it with a summer blazer...

It's a great soft, smart-casual summer outfit.
I think you made the right call re: work-wear, unless you're in a very casual office. Have you thought about some version of culottes, though? That could be a good look in a drapey fabric. Could play with different lengths, but longer than the shorts, for the sit test.
