WIW: So Cal Daycations - YouLookFab Forum

No NAS fashion here--just a few keeping it real WIWs taking DD1 to college orientation in San Diego and with the family for a short trip to Pismo Beach (DH's golf tourney.)
1. Athleta swim cover up (probably one of my most useful purchases ever--who would have thought!)
2. The workhorses--Pleione blouse, KUT BF jeans and Sofft sandals (which I duplicated in a different color way because they are so comfortable.)
3. Johnny Was blouse with the usual suspects.
4. Crocheted poncho top that is really too boho for anything but a casual beach trip. Kind of overwhelming but It took me forever to make and I love it anyway.

Wow - you made the crocheted poncho? It's gorgeous! I tried to learn how to crochet last winter, but I was all thumbs. I can understand why #2 is a workhorse, I've been in similar attire all summer myself. And Happy Birthday!

@Lisa, Karie,Cerinda, Andrea H and Aquamarine: Thanks for the boho love. Once you get the hang of crochet, it is pretty simple. I can really only crochet off a chart--I can't read a pattern to save my life.

@AJ: Thank you. Oreo loves the beach. The water, not so much. I think she just loves being off leash I have no tips to offer--only tissues. Honestly though, I think it will be a great experience for DD and I am super excited for her (and a little nervous.)

@Sally: Thank you! I credit YLF for helping me put together my travel outfits. I hardly had to think about it at all--just threw some stuff in a bag and voila!

That crocheted piece is amazing! As a teenager I crocheted a table runner (originally I had planned for an entire table cloth, but quickly abandoned that plan, haha) as a Christmas gift for my mom, out of who knows how many rosettes. I never EVER touched a crochet hook again - I was done for life!!
Ah, you are a half-empty-nester now? Big transitions!

Such great pictures Kelly - I love that crochet sweater (poncho?) ! I am so envious of the beach shots - they are making me a little too aware of how overdue I feel for a holiday/trip of some sort. You and your daughters are so pretty - the apples didn't fall too far from the tree!
